You already know the situation regarding split-screen. 343 says they can’t get good enough quality out of splitscreen. Is this worth believing? Well, I’m sure we can all attest to quality drops experienced during splitscreen play in past halos. OR rather more namely, halo 4. If they were having some quality related issues with halo 4, then perhaps those issues were amplified with the much larger scale halo 5. But isn’t the XOne more powerful? Well, it is infamous for falling short on most big games that release. Whether it be dynamic resolution or lower resolution and/or framerate than the Ps4 counterpart. So perhaps the issue is then that 343 built Halo 5 from the ground up as single player experience, and ran into issues when they later tried implement splitscreen.
Lack of splitscreen is obviously devastating for many fans, and I don’t blame anyone for being angry, but people need to stop acting as though 343 is doing it simply cause they feel like it. I grow tired of hearing grown men cry themselves to sleep because they think 343 is out to ruin their day. 343 obviously doesn’t want to intentionally disappoint us. I understand why people are upset. But please, at least try to be logical about it. If there is a way for them to get it in the game, then surely they would be trying after seeing the uproar caused by the announcement. Unless of course it is too difficult without giving us garbage quality. Which none of us can say for sure of course. We’re not game developers. Although too many people on the internet seem to think they are.
