As the title says, don’t have too much experience in the ranks given I only got a few weeks ago. Got to Plat 6 last season and it was relatively okay no absolute steam roll games. In my attempt to do the placements again however I ran into 3 smurfs and 1 guy who had been champ on 3v3’s 26 or something. So is my placement matches being skewered by my previous rank so that I’m playing better players or am I just ridiculously unlucky? The smurfs I’ve played have all seem to go on and get a good rank too.
Yeah, lots of people make second accounts on this game. Can’t even call them second accounts anymore, really. More like 5th or 6th accounts.

Side note will i be limited to 5 posts a day forever or is a trail period thing? Getting annoyed at having to pm people to keep the convo going.

Yeah, you are allowed more posts per day as you rank up. It does suck but it’s in place because of a few… interesting occurrences in the past.

Ahh right fair enough yeah does get annoying when your in a good thread and bam thats me done for the day. Im guessing just keep posting to level up?

You dont actually have to pay multiple accounts sadly which is one of the reasons it was so easy to do. Rainbow six was full of smurfs in the placements to the point they locked the ranked playlists to level 20 to stop this. Meaning youd have to play 20 odd hours or so just to do it.

Oh really??? I just assumed for each account you had to have separate gold subscription. You can just make a new profile and play MP?
I don’t get it either, but, then again, I’m not really worried about my stats so much.

That’s how it used to be until about 3 years ago when added Gold Sharing. Once you set a console as your “home console” for your gold account, all other accounts on that Xbox get gold privileges.
I use it share gold with my brother on his Xbox while I’m playing on mine. It also shares all my digital games with him too. The downside is that Smurf accounts are easier than ever to make. I remember back in Halo 3 days you had to get a 1 month to do it.

Aha yeah we are, just don’t really enjoy playing Champion and Onyx players when I’m trying to get to grips with the game. I guess it’s just because everyone else is trying to get their rank back. Probably better off doing it half way through the season XD but hey atleast I’ll see where I would of ranked if I did play a full season.

Yeah it looks like I’m in the same position, learn hard and fast lol. Mind you I’m quite happy I’ve finally made it to nearly 50% W/L after my terrible start to the game. Must of tanked about 30 losses and 10 wins in my first 40odd ish games and I thought I was getting the hang of it and leveling out and then I run into these players and it’s like oh no here we go again. I seem to be doing relatively okay just the Atriox turtle does me every time. Not entirely sure what I’m doing wrong when I have 4 bases and 3 power nodes yet I can’t go anywhere near his base thanks to shield gens and cloaking. I played a game on lunch earlier and the bugger just sat there with a few blitsterbacks and AA and pretty much just took my guys down too quickly before the shield would drop. Doesn’t help I was trying to push as was on lunch and couldn’t waste too much time. Any ideas how to deal with that?
I think the point of smurfs is to allow you to try new leaders/tactics without ruining your own rank. I don’t do it myself, but that would be the legit reasoning I see.
A couple seasons ago, I tanked my placement matches, for example, because I kept trying to get Johnson to work (and failed). That said, I don’t care that much about what rank I get, as evidenced by the terrible one I just received.

If you’re playing as atriox and the are only turtleing make a bunch of locust and a few shrouds and choppers (for detect). Sneak up behind their base because that’s usually where they build the cloaking generator. Try to take as much of the base out as possible with the locust using bulwark and unbreakable and then rengage quickly with wraiths and hunters. That’s how I broke my last turtle like that. Super annoying game

theres the solution to the noobs doing it, make them have to level the -Yoink- up before they can play ranked
