Is It Normal To Be This Far Behind?

Is it just me, or does 343 seem like they are scrambling to release Halo 4 this November? There’s just so many things I’ve heard. Decisions haven’t been made yet. Placeholder name here and there. Not finished with this level design. Polishing the game and squashing bugs. It just seems to me that they have a lot of work left to do before the 6th of November.

It would be a painful sight to bear, but I’d rather have a content, finished game that was delayed, rather than a rushed game that has many glitches. Usually when this happens with a game, since the people making the game don’t have much time to get the true feeling for the game, they find out little things that they might have done differently if they had more time.

That’s merely my opinion and experience. I could be completely wrong and 343 has all things under their belt. But what’s your thoughts?

Four months away.

By the time they hit gold it should be fine!

They don’t even have the ranking system decided on yet.

let’s be real here…

Hmmm, from the sounds of things, they’ve almost finished everything up, aside from some little details and networking, as well as complete balance. I don’t feel in any way they are far behind. I believe they are right on schedule. We have 17 weeks left until Halo 4, and that’s plenty of time to finish things up. I assure you, Halo 4 will not be another New Vegas or Skyrim.

I think they are fine. They’ve been working on the game for almost 4 years now. Besides all the things they need to do to polish the game up aren’t processes that take a good deal of time. Frankie said they would go gold in 2 months and they seem pretty confident.

And who said this?

Most of what we’ve seen and what has been demoed are old builds, they always are. There are tons of things they haven’t revealed and won’t reveal until much closer to release.

im pretty sure they do have a ranking system decided and getting polished, they just haven’t released info on it yet

All the more reason to just let them be and focus on the game.

Instead of finding fault in every bit of information they release. Creating countless threads that mercilessly pick apart every aspect of a few seconds of gameplay footage.

The entirety of the campaign is playable…

plus they announced that the entire campaign was playable back in april. I think there is nothing to worry about

-Yoink!- put way too many people on the 343i team to make Halo games, for them to be behind. From what I’ve heard and read, they have a lot of talented, experienced, handpicked, people working on this Game. I got a feeling that the game will be in good shape coming down the pipe. Doesn’t mean it’ll be the Halo everyone wants, but if nothing else, it’ll be polished as hell.

It does seem like the deadline is a bit close for them to be doing all of this still. But there is going to be a LOT of content with this game at the same time. I just hope it turns out well, and not too Reach-like.

Forge in Halo 3, was made for two guys in two weeks or something. I don’t remember the ViDoc when they said it.

I’m pretty sure, after all this events where you can play Halo 4.

343i will just sit, and (I’m sure they have at least options or plans of what-to-do) take decisions of what they will finally do in aspects they thinked they should wait until having more people playing it.

And, when the events are over, they will focuss in the game.

Its sad
Im sure they have one but its not perfect yet in there eyes and it needs to be close to perfect

But 8 weeks is NOT THAT LONG TO FINISH everything up …

Good luck 343i
And let us all hope the game is great

i would rather have a rushed not quite finished game than delayed.

Excuse me if I am not the BEST mathematician around, but…from this week all the way to Halo 4’s release, I’m pretty sure it’s more than 8 weeks.

14 weeks till release to be precise, only need two or three or even four weeks to print the copies in full retail and get them shipped around the globe,

so that’s basically still 10 weeks to work out whatever they need to…I’m fine with that~

I HAVE to disagree.

I think he means 8 weeks until Halo 4 goes gold.

They confirmed the game would go gold in just 2 months, so that means the game is already finished 2 months before release. So they definitely aren’t far behind.

Ah…well…honestly don’t know how I feel about that, but Halo 4 is looking very complete and fantastic, so I’m cool with it.
