I recently started playing Halo 4 again and it has been pretty frustratingly terrible (I broke my first controller last night). Most notably the connection has been rather terrible.
I will get games sometimes where I am not even sure how I have killed people because they just fall down as I miss every shot.
The most annoying thing however is my stutter stepping. Whenever I push in on the stick I start running for about .5 seconds and then all of a sudden quit. Not only does it cancel my sprint but it counts it as a sprint and I cannot reactivate my sprinting.
Is it just me, or does this game have shotty connection?
(Hint: No other game I play has any issue with connection.)
I don’t know what it is, I think it’s Microsoft’s servers.
When they moved Reach from Bungie’s servers to Microsoft’s, Reach got laggy too.
I don’t know but I don’t even remember the last time I had a laggy match in Halo 4. seems pretty damn fine to me as long as I stay away from Grifball.
If you’re from Australia just quit playing unless you play in a group that pulls host often or you pull host often.
No forced region search, non-existent host selection (host record is a broken and inaccurate system) combined with the awful netcode make Halo 4 tedious on international hosts.
Neither.
It’s the lag compensation.
If only this game had shipped with dedicated servers…
No OP, i don’t think it’s just you because i have been dealing with connection issue myself.
I keep getting dropped from games so much its not even funny, i think Halo 4 netcode is not that great, although i suspect my poor internet might have contributed to some of my dropped games too, and its really frustrating, i totally understand where your coming from
Ive had lagging in matches especially with JIP players and Quitters going in and out of matches. There have also been certian high traffic situations in matches that have slowed my xbox - but those might be due to an old xbox. Point is, is this game has its issues especially when players drop in and out of matches.
Problem in particular is that sometimes when the black screen occurs some players will be able to act before I do, because my black screen resolves a bit latter. My connection itself is pretty good so I know its not me, but just the way the game is designed. Reach, H3, and H2 had these problems when people quittoo.
More to the point i have never experienced your issue of getting kicked out of matches, but I have encountered the sprinting problem a bit and its stupidly frustrating.
