Who designed the audio for the Gravity Hammer? I mean seriously, what a freaking downgrade compared to how it used to sound. Everybody is running around in Grifball swinging their hammers and it just sounds so stupid. If I was playing this in the 1990’s, then I could tolerate this. But this is 2013, and the audio for Grifball is unacceptable for me. I turn the volume when I play grifball, that’s how much I hate it. Am I just acting like a little whiny girl or has there been a severe audio downgrade for the Gravity hammer?

There’s been a downgrade, but you still sound like a whiny girl.
The Hammer sounds like a toy. xD
Maybe 343i mistook it for a squeaky toy or something.
I think almost every weapon in Halo 4 sounds like smaller and bigger beeps …
I agree about the announcer and the Hammer sound. Also I noticed that the energy sword makes no noise when you switch to it and take it out.
I think Grifballs announcent was fine in Reach, seems to be too low and drawn out now. Its gotta be intense! Grifball! Also, the Hammer just isn’t doing it for me. It sounds like a big drum…and theres not really a gravity explosion any more. Perhaps the particle effects for it couldn’t be budgeted in.
Theres some sort of weird little mechanically noise too, I think its when other people swing it or maybe from a distance.
The gravity hammer sound is what makes me play it. I like it.
I just realized after reading this thread and playing Grifball how silly it sounds.
It doesn’t bother me much. What bothers me is the lag in Grifball and the Energy Sword’s inconsistency.
I agree, the sounds in grifball make me angry. And a side note, I want the goal to blow up after a score like it used to lol. Or am I imagining that? If I am imagining it, I would still like that to happen.
The reason it doesnt explode is because the original grif was built from assault. We haz no bombs! Its an oddbal.
Yes, the high pitched sounds is terrible.
Is it just me or does the gravity hammer only sound like that in Grifball? I’ve used the grav hammer as an ordinance drop and in campaign and spartan ops plenty of times and the sound immediately stuck out as off to me on my first game of Grifball.
I think it sounds fine
Every sound effect in Halo 4 sounds horrible.
word the sounds are weird… lol… GRIFF BALL FTW!
I think you guys are just complaining too much. The hammer sound is so futuristic sounding. I’m sure some gravity sort of device wouldn’t sound like a stick of dynamite going off. It would sound all futuristic.
343, i like the sounds of the gravity hammer. As a matter of fact i like all the sounds in Halo 4. They did everything from beefing it all up to making everything sound futuristic.
We seem to be getting higher , sharper frequencies than what we’re used to . And what happened to the bloody explosion we all know and love , when we score !?
The gravity hammer is more annoying than the mongooses horn

That explosion is back in grifball pro. Also inl pro, ROUNDS. Grifball pro is exactly like Reach’s grifball.

Good to know . Maybe it’s because I’m always playing split-screen with friends , I’ve yet to see the digital fire .
When it swings I guess I’m ok with the sound. Could be better. What really gets me is hearing it across the map, its a high pitch sqeak? Seriously it makes my ears hurt. What moron puts a high frequency sound in a video game?
