Does there seem to be a lack of map variety? I was looking over the (terribly documented) IGN article and then went to Halopedia to check the maps. I feel like a lot of them look the same.
Eden and Empire just pisses me off. Its the same map just at night/day.
Coliseum looks a lot like regret which looks like an outside Truth, which is Midship.
Fathom looks very similar to eden and empire.
Im upset that the Breakout Arena maps count towards the final 21 map count, as does Pegasus and Orion.
Plaza and the Rig look different enough to me tho.
I was just talking about a similar thing in Halo 3’s Campaign with a friend. The first 4 missions are in very similar locals. A lot of the geometry looks the same and feels very similar.
What are your guy’s opinions? The Warzone maps look really sweet, different, and unique, like Halo has been known for over the years, but the Arena maps seem to similar. Granted I don’t have the game, I haven’t played to final product, and I’m sure all these maps play a bit differently (save for Eden and Empire, ugh) but they look really similar.
I’m also afraid, with the focus of BTB in the DLC to follow, that we’re not going to have very unique 2v2-4v4 size maps that aren’t forged. I love forge maps, but they all start to look the same.
