Is it just me or is watchin this trainwreck funny now

like ive seen companies screw over their games before in the past, i mean its really common now with cod, battlefield, or fallout 76 a while back. but for some reason 343 is the funniest to me
i mean, it aint really funny, it actually sucks a lot since ive been a halo fan for most of my life. so to watch this franchise i legit love go to hell sucks. but at the same time, i think at this point i hate 343 enough that i dont care and i just wanna laugh at it

like
-they didnt learn from fiesta at all and just removed that new game mode, while their game still has barely any content
-theyre bringin out a 20 dollar coating thats literally just purple
-from what ive read the games even more unplayable than its ever been (desync, cheaters, etc)
-the store didnt change at all. not only the 7 bucks helmet, but they also still have the old armor kits for 20 bucks cause “wE dIdNt WaNt To cHaNgE tHe PrICe FoR pEoPlE wHo BoUgHt ThEm,” as if they cant just refund the credits back
-and the damn cyber visor and jorge texture still aint fixed

and meanwhile they went from actin like they care all about the players to goin dead silent and postin some stupid numbers as if they meant anything
343, your best game is literally just a port of better games you couldnt make in your wildest dreams and even then you screwed that up at first. you have nothing to brag about, shut up

i know some people are still hopeful that in a few years this game will be better, but i aint holdin my breath. if they really wanted to make it better they woulda done what ea did with bf2 and just shut down the store for a while and focus on fixin the gameplay. then again for 343 it doesnt really even matter if they focus on gameplay or not, cause their hotfixes dont even work
its just hilarious is all, but in a really bitter way

I’m kind of heartbroken because I really want Halo to succeed. With many of its competitors not doing so hot, this really should’ve been Halo’s year to shine.

dont wanna admit it but thats the only reason im still on this forum talkin about this game. cause i loved halo, and i really thought infinite was gonna be the halo game i always dreamed of. so to see it not only release in this shallow bad state but only get worse is just, i dunno dude, it just sucks

I don’t understand why they’re not doing more…there’s gotta be a reason…

I can only assume that behind the scenes it must be a big corporate mess with departments not talking to each other (which explains the piss poor comms) and a skeleton dev team that is trying to sort out the mess left by others (due to either bad coding or not passing on lessons learned which explains the time it takes to resolve issues or fail to resolve them). All the noises coming out of 343i are of a company in turmoil that don’t know what they’re doing or what one arm is doing while the left arm does something else…and I have absolutely zero faith or trust in them. It’s literally bordering on incompetence and negligence…with side portions of arrogance, ignorance and complacency. It’s not pretty.

Your name checks out…I’m kidding, but in all honesty, any proof? I don’t follow what they say at all and I don’t follow their social media or anything like that. I mean, I hope this isn’t the case, but it wouldn’t surprise me and it would explain a lot. But I haven’t heard anything like this happening over there.

Nah I don’t have any proof…I should have stated that it’s pure speculation on my behalf, however there are threads on here and media reports of all the job losses, internal issues and key members of staff leaving so it’s not entirely speculative (there’s actually a video online on a Halo related YouTube channel that mentions the current job vacancies in key positions which is quite alarming in itself).

Whilst I’d be the first to admit that I don’t know anything about gaming development, by trade I’m an IT project manager dealing with private and public sector software projects so you could argue that my skillset could be transferable and relevant to some degree…but my main point is that if I left my position as project manager part way through a multi million pound/dollar software project then it is the norm to leave full documentation and handover. Even then it would take 2-3 weeks for someone new to step in to my shoes, however if the documentation and handover wasn’t done correctly (or even handed over to someone not suitable for the job) then you’re easily looking at 4-5 weeks for them to get up to speed. If you translate that in to a games development scenario (which may well be a lot more complicated depending on the situation behind the scenes) then you could be easily talking 7-8 weeks just to catch up and stand still.

Just like in COD Warzone…the one thing that will never break is the store, and if it does then they’ll be working around the clock to fix it (which is clearly not what they are doing with the ongoing BTB and server issues despite then being fundamental to gameplay and retaining player population). Actually the fact that they admitted that their store UI isn’t capable of doing a lot of basic things like cataloguing single items or selling single items from bundles speaks volumes…it’s arguably the most basic online store UI I’ve ever seen which is actually quite embarrassing when you think about it.

Not just the store UI, pretty sure they’re on the record for saying the whole UI is too complicated & adding other playlists could break things more lol
My thinking is why even have this UI then & who TF gave it the go if it offers no to little modulation in the grand scheme of things.

Its like all the mobile game devs have moved into AAA games smh.

I’ll never forget when Red Dead Online was so broken that animals would barely even spawn on the server. This problem lasted for MONTHS and made several daily challenges and one of the main game roles (jobs) very difficult is not impossible to complete in a timely fashion.

But the INSTANT that someone discovered a glitch to get infinite treasure chests (which granted gold bars, the premium currency) they all came sprinting to work and put out a patch within an hour.

More and more, it just seems like AAA games are just digital microtransaction stores that happen to have a piece of entertainment attached to them.

It’s like winning despite being the slowest runner because the other runners failed the drug test :c

I think it is only a train wreak in as much as the game just isn’t reaching it’s potential. It is a great game that is a blast to play when everything is working as intended. And the real unfortunate thing is it really is too late. If 343 were to fix everything tomorrow, I still don’t see a massive return of players. First impressions really do matter, but developers think that anything will work as long as it is marketed well enough.

This trainwreck of a game and release is hilarious at this point but also depressing that our beloved FPS series is pretty much ruined at this point. 343 Does not care about us or the fans that aren’t on this forum, and I think the majority pretty much hate them. So sad what they’d done to this series because of their greed and pure laziness. Above all I’m happy that people are finally waking up, I feel bad for the people who paid $60 for a subpar campaign and that’s all they got.

It’s really depressing and funny at the same time. Depressing because there is a great game underneath all those stupid decisions, but also funny because they deserve all the flak they are getting for those same bad decisions.

I really think they should just come out, drop the attitude and apologize. Talk to us. We care about this franchise, we’ll listen!

But right now, all the shady dodginess and -Yoink!- focus on the store is really -Yoink!- everybody off.

They never will and developers rarely if ever apologize without using their same ole corporate lingo where they avoid answering questions directly and their apology is never heartfelt. 343 doesn’t care about us or the series anymore and only care about their greed plain and simple. What you’re asking will never happen, next time you’ll see them on screen is when they have to announce Forge will be delayed again.

YEAH THIS RIGHT HERE I’ve got a whole friggin’ thread about that…! SO glad to see somebody else say this!!

It’s not like this is a big revelation. Plenty of folks in your thread even predicted this would happen.

I enjoy seeing people ripping apart this crap more than I “enjoyed” all of 343’s games.
And I would say rightfully so. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m not really sure why you think that tired joke has any effect on me.
