…underwhelming?
I mean, it’s beyond insane in Flood mode, where you can cover massive distances and let its momentum carry you just about anywhere that’s not above you.
But when you stick it on a normal Spartan…I mean, it feels like I’m barely moving. Like I could walk at the pace it moves me.
I mean, it’s fun to use, since it looks cool as all hell, but I’ve never really been in a situation where I felt like it’s paid off.
Am I the only one getting this vibe?
Yup. It’s beyond useless when you are a Spartan.
I use it as my main AA. not too effective unless you like to get into CQC often. All I use it for is quick corner thrusting when 1 shot, or rapid redirection when fighting in CQC.
I find most AA somewhat useless really.
Only problem is if they make the boost you get from it slightly bigger, then it would dominate in Flood Mode. I can already see hundreds of flood gliding through the sky, ready to take down survivors, so that they too, can enjoy the Thruster Pack.

Flood enjoy a large boost because of their gravity settings. tone the thrust up and you can simply tone their gravity down.

That thing has saved my life so many times in Halo 4. It’s pretty much as powerful as it can get without becoming broken. It allows for someone to evade around a corner simply and reach a ledge that they might have missed by a few feet. It also has an enjoyable animation.

Those are the exact same reasons I use the Jetpack, it’s only issue is I have a giant steel… thing… on my back.

The animation is the only thing enjoyable about this thing. The amount that it moves me is so slow that…I dunno, it’s possible to use it to dodge things, but in the same way that it’s possible to walk away from the plasma grenade as opposed to continuing to stand next to it.

A usefull tactic to try also, is thrusting to fall faster. Say you need to get off highground to avoid something simply thrust above the surface and you will plummit.
While it’s saved me a few times by giving me that little bit of speed to escape round a corner I have to agree. It’s completely useless for closing on on enemies and avoiding a grenade or vehicle.
It’s only good when you get speed boost and it scales and pushes you 3 times farther.

Yeah, it does seem to become useful when you get higher speed, but as a base spartan, it hardly does anything.
the thruster pack has saved me and gotten me out of tough situations before such as a random grenade or a room full of enemies and thrust to get out in time, it all varies though
