Is it just me or is free for all in this game extremely punishing and not fun because of it?

I’ve literally never won a game of free for all and I find it so punishing it’s not fun for me personally. I find every single game has extremely high level players and myself though I’m not amazing at this game I’m also not a bad player, it team slayer despite somehow losing more than I win my K/D ratio is almost 1.7. It just seems like if your matchmaking is this punishing it’s not doing a good job at selecting opponents and team mates.

I love the way this game plays but the matchmaking is just way too try hard to be fun alot of the time. I just don’t get how an above average player can have a negative win loss ratio in this game, it’s so frustrating. I’ve lost so many games in the past couple of weeks while maintaining a 2 K/D in slayer. Going into matchmaking as a party only seems to make it worse.

Use all weapons. Don’t get caught with one weapon. Always try to stay with two

I think FFA is so tough because the AR/ Sidekick are honestly really bad in 2v1’s. You either have to have grenades, be within melee range, or have time to reload and recharge shields between kills. The CE pistol, BR, DMR, and H5 pistol all had the ability to give players the chance to take down 1-3 opponents in a clip without needing a nade or melee.

You’re not getting two kills with one assault rifle mag unless you have nades or ste union melee Reach.

And the sidekick literally can’t perfect kill 2 enemies in one clip.

So it leads to everyone but the most spawn-blessed just killing one person and then dying instantly all match

Best way to play free for all is find out how to get good at stealing everyone elses kills lol. If you engage in actual fightings you’ll probably get sweeped up with the person your engaging with by another roaming player before you kill each other.

Yea FFA is not a fun one for me. I operate better in a team setting. Challenges for that mode are insta swapped.

Iv won most of my games, my advice (or how I play) is just try be more map aware and abit more cautious.

It’s also wise to keep an eye on valuable items that can spawn powerweapona or power ups as they can help you alot

I would like to see a free for all mode where the player with the best k/d ratio wins. that would create some really interesting gameplay instead of people just running around like headless chickens trying to get to the first 20 or whatever kills.

With how you have to approach each gun fight in this game, FFA pretty much has this unwritten rule of, “Fire at your own risk”. What that means is, when you shoot at an enemy, make sure you get that kill, and IF you get the kill, be ready to engage another player IMMEDIATELY. As soon as players see any red dot on their radar, they will almost immediately decend on the general area to clean up a kill from a previous engagement. That’s how Halo FFA is played, and probably will always be played.
