At the time I play (while US is asleep) there are always over 10k people playing. I’ve never seen less than that, and yester day, I saw between 10k-11k, but it obvoisly grew with the time.
But now that MW3 came out, when here were I live is morning, the population is always between 80k-100k , but today that MW3 was released, I saw that Reach had only 36k people online.
I’m referring to the playing now counter, not the 24h counter.

Nope. The population stills seems strong, i think it was faster MM today i must say. I was in then out of games. Not alot of Boosters or high ranks which was a good thing.
Gamers that flitter around like butterflies to the newest games that come out, and will play a game only until the next new one is released.
And gamers that really make a connection to the story line of a franchise and stick with it. The ones who will always play it no matter what.
Halo will always have its hard core fans. And if the butterflies want to flitter to MW3, let 'em.
I’ve been running my group for almost two years now, we started and remain a Halo only group. One thing I have noticed from a lot of other groups / clans that started Halo only is that they are giving up on Halo and becoming multi-game multi-platform just for the sake of increasing membership.
Well,it takes a lot more to say you’re a “such and such” clan than just slapping a forum in your clan for people to talk about the game.
My point is, I don’t think the days of Halo only groups / clans, mainly Halo only players are over.
We have Halo CEA in a few days, and in aboput a year Halo 4.

Positive correlation: the better playlists have higher populations. BTB and Invasion outdo competitive gametypes every time. Doesn’t thay say something about the fanbase?
> Lol even a lot of the CoD fans are saying mw3 is crap. It’s garbage.
Play a coupla games on my friends XBOX. Its actually a pretty good game, but it is completely unnecessary to buy it when BlOps and MW2 are EXACTLY the same.

Bought it and played it last night. It’s almost a carbon copy of MW2 with updated graphics, weapons, killstreak rewards, and perks. The only other thing this game serves as, was a vehicle to release Elite. Personally, I like variety. It keeps things fresh, and gives perspective on other games. It’s not a bad game, just nothing really groundbreaking.
