Is it just me or are some of these challenges too difficult? And why is it $2 to swap out a challenge?

Most of them are fun and I still love this game but some of these challenges got me pulling my hair out. I really like the ones that say get xx wins on xx mode becasuse those encourage me to play the game and work together with others so we do well. But trying to destroy a wraith while keeping my team from destroying it so I get the challenge done and not them can feel frustrating. Especially since you barley see wraiths to begin with. I rather have challenges that say play 5 games of xx or win a game of xx or even play 20 games because that might take less time then some of these challenges lol.

I know we dont need them since they are giving all players the new visor reward for this weeks ultimate challenge. We can use challenge swaps but once we use those up we have to pay $2 to swap them out and might still get another impossible challenge. They are just for exp so its not a big deal but if later on they have something like the samurai armor as a reward for completing all the weekly challenges and we get 2 or 3 aggravating challenges then it would make the game really frustrating and dissappointing.

What do you guys think? Are the challenges fair? Am I being dramatic lol? Have most of your challenges been fairly easy or not very time consuming?

I actually got really frustrated last night because I couldn’t get the right game modes or weapons to finish my challenges. They are better than before, but they still interfere with gameplay.

I’m still having to use weapon swaps for challenges that are bugged. I shouldn’t have to use what costs money to resolve this issue. I would appreciate it if they removed the real world cost associated with weapon swaps, or the very least return what I used on these buggy challenges.

You answered your own question in the thread title. Make challenges intentionally frustrating and offer the player a way to bypass that frustration by opening up their wallet. Call me cynical but I also believe that this is the reason for the absolutely terrible matchmaking menu because a lot of the challenges would be “too easy” to get if you were able to select what gametype you want to play.

Sell the solution.

Buyable challenge swaps is a sign of predatory design. A lot of ‘bad’ MMOs do this, they create artificial problems and then sell the solution in the cash shop in hopes players will spend money.

I completely agree. 80 to 90% of the challenges are fine but there’s a handful that are a pain. Every level you gain or every 5 matches you play should give a free challenge swap. Also the fact that certain items each week are tied to completing all weekly chaklenges is crazy. Maybe players should complete 10 weekly challenges a week to get the featured item. A better match composer like MCCs where you can choose ctf, strongholds etc would also help. People shouldn’t have to spend 10 to 12 hours a week grinding challenges out.

This is really frustrating because I enjoy the gameplay but the challenge and progression system makes no sense. I understand paying 8.99 for a battle pass every 6 months or so but I don’t understand the other paid items and charging for challenge swaps on top of that. There needs to be more ways to earn exp and challenge swaps without opening your wallet.

I don’t know if they’re all better than before. I have one right now to get 5 kills with a banshee fuel rod cannon. I have barely seen any banshees spawn. And when they do it’s in big team, so a lot of other players are gonna try and get them. And even if I get one I still might not get 5 kills. And even if I get 5 kills they might not be with the fuel rod cannon. Personally I think that’s worse than any I got before the update.

I agree. The older challenges were even MORE specific than this, which is why I am saying the current system is better. It is still far from perfect though. Instead of 5 Banshee fuel rod kills, it should be ‘5 Banshee kills’ or ‘5 Banished vehicle kills’ or even ‘5 vehicle kills’

The current system is really frustrating me because there are matches where I’m just seeking out a certain weapon the entire time and doing nothing useful. That isn’t fun.

I think that’s a good idea. If they made the challenges a little more generic. Something like “get 5 kills with a vehicle” because then the player can use whatever vehicle they like to reach that goal. Or maybe count assists as kills for the challenge so that you dont have to yell at your friend for taking your kill you needed for a challenge lol.

But they also should’nt be too easy so it doesnt get boring. So if its simple like “kill spartans” then they could make it say “kill 20 spartans” to make it fair or something like that.

Let’s not forget we’re not able to progress more than three (four if you’ve paid for premium) at one time either, and they’re not changed untill the XP is rewarded.

Agreed. They need to make challenges be natural parts of the gameplay loop. If I am playing normally, then I am never going to pick up a Pulse Carbine, ever. So the challenge to get kills with the Pulse Carbine is disruptive to normal game flow.

That is what I feel like. 80 to 90% are fine but a few are very annoying. I agree. If they gave you options for the mode you wanted to play that would help. Or maybe if you needed to complete 10 of 15 challenges instead of all of them then it would make it a little easier and more fun.

Yeah sometimes what you need doesnt even spawn. Which is so frustrating when you been waiting forever for it and then someone else just takes it. They could probably fix this by maybe just adding more vehicles or make them spawn more often or really just lower the number of kills. Like you said what are the chances you get that vehicle and also get those 5 kills with it before getting blow up lol.

I hope they keep listening to us and at least make some changes to make the challenges fit the flow of the game better instead of us having to sacrifice an arm and leg for them :sweat_smile:
