Is it just me or are AA underused?

Hey guys, I was rewatching the multiplayer gameplay from RTX on Longbow today and I was wondering:

Does it seem like people are using Armor Abilities less than they did in Reach…?

This may just be me or even the game is still way too young to judge, it just doesn’t seem like we have seen a lot of armor ability usage other than Promethian Vision.

I want to say it’s some weird mix of 50% too bad at halo to use them, 40% too busy just testing the game 10% other.

The other, though this sort of fits into the later is that I am fairly certain they did not have time to set up their load outs or pick their AA’s. But yeah honestly I just consider them reaaaly bad.

In the MLG video’s from a few weeks ago nearly every single player had P-vision up virtually all the time.

This is a good thing, OP

I say because of the faster gameplay, that using an AA at the wrong time = death. You have to be smart of when to use it.

There wasn’t Longbow gameplay today. I was at RTX. and yes, AA’s don’t need to be relied on in gameplay. People are using them now for just a little assistance

i think this probly because the map is bigger and people tend to use armor
abilities more in closer combat type maps.

I also think with sprint it also makes them use it less since they are going to be sprinting more
and armor abilities.

Since in reach all they had was AA’s and sprint wasnt able to be used at anytime cause players to
use their 1 AA all the time compared to 4 they have sprint and an AA

Reach - only AA’s

Halo 4 - Sprint + AA’s

So i mean people are going to be using sprint mostly until cqc.

This is just my opinion on the subject.

Thats Exactly why. Btw. Halo 4 is awesome. I played it, and it blew my mind

and yet, people will still complain about them.

No idea, man. It seems to me, though, that every AA we’ve seen in action can be defeated by any skilled player using only a gun, which I really like. In that sense, I’d say AA’s are less powerful than before, but in a good way, a balanced one.

Yeah, I really only saw PV being used.

Well, I’m not sure if you are at RTX and have played it first hand. But for me its because of how they aren’t Powers to rely on. They are more tactical now. And PV isn’t OP btw cause the radar changes make it tell you almost EXACTLY where they are easily.

Oh you.

I really want someone to do some work with the Thruster Pack. We already know how powerful PV is. TP just looks so damn sweet.

This.

In Halo 4, because of the faster gameplay, you have to be very careful when using AA’s.

Its not very useful. I don’t get why every body uses it. I owned only using thruster pack.

Aw dude, you must be exhausted. Will you be going back tomorrow?

It’s almost like these things are supposed to, I don’t know, FLAVOR gameplay instead of become it.

No more AA centered gameplay = the best thing since sliced bread

Multi-kills in campaign will be possible again! In Reach, target locator, rocket launcher, and the grenade launcher during the TotS Falcon ride easily yield medals but it’s a pain in the -Yoink- trying to get them any other way.

Why use any AA other than the gamebreaker that allows you to see through walls?

So is Halo back? Because it is for me, I’ve never been so excited watching a game of Halo! I knew AA’s could work! Plus the new sniper design and medals are really starting to grow on me after watching. Even though I couldn’t hear the sniper’s new sound (Since you played it how’s the new sound for it?), I could visually see it felt powerful.

Saw the Light Shield a lot in the Boys Vs Girls on Youtube.

Compared to the MLG players a lot less people were using them.

But then again, just how useful is PV on a large map? You would need confirmation (radar) that an enemy is near you or else you would just waste the entire thing looking for someone.
