I am a level 45+ player in Halo 3… My original account I got up to 48 and have always been able to hold my own against 50’s. However, with my second account, I have reached 45, but I’m finding it harder to rank up this time around.
I still hold up reasonably against 50’s, and outplay them at times, but are the remaining players in Halo 3 generally higher ranks making it harder to rank up once you reach the higher levels, or what?
It seems there’s more of a traditional, “hardcore” Halo kind of crowd that plays Halo 3 now, which is why I’m asking…
Yup most players make second accounts and play Halo 3 again. Most new players are either on social slayer or really low in level.
Then of course are those Colonels, Commanders trying to get their 50’s still. Most Brigadiers don’t care about a 50 and are happy where they are. Anyone lower than 35 is just not good at all.
But yes the game is more competitive now at higher levels because there is less people playing and most people playing ranked want that 50. Social slayer for everyone else.
In playlists like MLG and Team Slayer probably since you have to worry about Derankers but for the other ones, it was quite easy.
I got a 40 in Lone Wolves and Team Snipers with barley any losses. I also have a 50 in Team Slayer with probably 40-50 losses on it… due to me being bad, teammates being bad, and derankers.
No it really isn’t. A lot of the good 50’s left. There is a lot, and I mean A LOT of trying (Sweaty, man rage, controller throwing, trying as hard as you can for no reason, yelling, sweaty man fun) in all playlists even social, which is quite sad.
I mean I play BTB in full party all the time, but they removed SB like -Yoinks!- so…
To the guy talking about deranking, I have seen no derankers 50 high in Team Slayer, Doubles, Swat or Snipers. Every once in a while you will get one, but they are most prevalent at around 15-35 or 40.
Well ranks are a pain as it is. I’m stuck at around 23-25, wanted to get legit, keep getting spammed messages about boosting the ranks so I’m guessing there’s a lot of illegit 50 ranks around.

Some did yes but there is still quite a lot of really good legit 50s still playing in 50 high Team slayer, Snipers, Doubles and MLG, not 100% sure for LW or SWAT as i dislike those playlists but from what i hear there is still a few in those but i would say from experience Team Slayer has the healthiest 50 high population, all the above is playlist rank specific not just highest skill.

Yeah there still is a fair bit of illegitimate 50s hanging around and it does seem people are stupid to enough to buy 50s when halo 4 is almost out, thats why derankers make me laugh so much at how sad they are wasting time.
Ignore the messages, stay legit and as i always say, be proud of the rank you can achieve, whether its a 50 or not, at least you can look at your rank and say “i did that”.
