Has this been done in the past?
I know it won’t happen, I was jw…
Not likely to happen at all.
It can be done BUT it will never happen. The xbox one is to limited in power to run this game in split screen and maintain 60 fps with its current settings. To many compromises would have to be made. It would put split screen players at a huge disadvantage. Does anyone not remember playing halo 2 or 3 and hating when they got stuck on the team that had a bunch of split screen players???
Hmm if they can optimize the engine a little better maybe? But splitscreen will lower framerate for sure. unless they can lower resolution, rendering to maintain 60 fps, would people be fine with that?

I would half the resolution if I could play Halo 5 splitscreen. I would be at a huge disadvantage but who cares, I just want to play with my friends.

no they would not, next thing youd would see is people whining there resolution is crap and the whining circle would make another rotation
The only way I know, is a not really split screen, but you can have two players in the same room. It was done by a video game reviewer. It only took two xbox ones, and TWO monitors, and I guess lots of cash.
I don’t see why they couldn’t do what Bungie did with Reach when it comes to splitscreen. When you had two or more people playing on the same console, the game took away some of the textures, details, lighting, etc. in order for things to keep running smoothly. Nobody had any issues with that beforehand, why why would they now? I would gladly sacrifice a bit of super nice shadowing and textures if it meant being able to play with a friend/family member on the same console.
Feel free to use the splitscreen thread.
