There are some people that I run into a lot on the forums. Is it calling out if right now if I mentioned their names and just told them hi?

I would assume it isn’t calling out if you were just referring to them or mentioning them. Calling out is typically where you accuse a particular individual of something, like specifically blaming a particular forum member or 343 employee for a particular reason.
Also, questions like these should probably be asked directly to a monitor through a message or in the Forum FAQ stickied at the top of the forums.

I don’t think it would be calling out, but it does seem a DM would be a better way to go. Well, at least until we’ve served our penance and the off topic thread is brought back.
