Okay first off

ahem

OH MY GOD WE ARE FINALLY GETTING INFECTION JESUS CHRIST YES YESSSSSSSS!!!

But while people were distracted about all of the infection goodness, a lot of people didn’t realize that the map that the teaser took place on…

…was a frickin Torque remix. WHY.

I mean Infection completely cancels out almost any negative with the Reach update, but cmon 343! We can’t have just one update with only NEW content? I was really hoping that with the Reach update that we would ONLY get new stuff, because it is all about reach after all, but I guess not.

Oh well, doesn’t matter anyways, because once Infection (and hopefully other modes too) comes out, I’m not touching matchmaking for a loooooong time. (Unless if infection is in matchmaking.)

Thoughts on the Remix?

I’ve got no idea why 343 wouldn’t try to bring back a Halo Reach map or at least something that resembles one. IMO making the map for Memories of Reach a Torque remix was stupid.

I thought we might get a remake of a Reach map like sword base or something, all these remixes really kill it for me. Most of the maps just feel the same.

Well, you have a good point, and at least it isn’t another collection of standard UNSC halls and rooms, it has snow, yay!

Would make more sense if 343 brought back a old map from reach.

As for the remix…I don’t really care because most remix maps sucked.

I thought 343 were done with the remixed maps?

Did you not even comprehend the post? I’m absolutely stoked for infection, but that still doesn’t mean that we can’t dislike other things in this update.

But yeah, why would they remix such a poorly recieved map? In fact, why are remixes still happening? The community have clearly expressed that we don’t like them… oh well, infection looks awesome so I don’t care too much right now.

If they bring firefight with this update as well and a Warzone or Firefight map based on Reach, i’ll be set.

Looks pretty cool? It looks nearly identical to Torque, but with snow. Maybe a few added walkways, but other than that, I don’t see much different with it. Hopefully I’m wrong though!

Exactly! If they had Reach maps instead of remixes, this update would be PERFECT! But no, apparently we can’t ask for this because we are just whining.

They show a short teaser and you and others are complaining about it already… it’s pretty sad.

I’d just like to remind everyone that all the teasers up until now have always taken place on a single map, and since this update is following a smaller one, there will likely be a lot more content in this compared to the last one, likely including maps.

How is Ghosts of Meridian only new content? 70% of the update are variants and skins man haha

You or any one else don’t know what maps will be used… you saw a very short teaser and are already full of salt for no reason.

Yup, a Reach themed map or a Reach remake would’ve set this update up for perfection. I’m getting tired of remixes, 343 should at least try to make them look different other than snow or whatever.
