Is Infinite a dead game?

I’ve been thinking about this and I have a comparison.

Ever hear of magic the gathering? It’s a card game. A pretty successful one at that. Back in the early 2000’s the company who made it created an online version: Magic The Gathering: online, or MTGO.

Its was outsourced and built on a good platform. Did what it needed to do and had alot of players. But the platform wasn’t expandable. So the company decided to create version 2 or 3 in house.

A mess ensued.

Years went by. Crash after crash. Eventually they got it working pretty well. But by then, their player base left and never came back. Even today you can download mtgo and play. You’ll find games. But it’s nothing that it was.

Halo infinite is like mtgo.

Theres always going to be someone who’ll log on sure, but it missed it’s chance to be a household name.
Hang on if you want too, just don’t expect you’ll ever get what you were promised.

I mean just wait till season 2. Where 343 is going to tell us to just wait till season 3 for the best content.

They really messed up by extending a season and not even extending the Battlepass with more content. Like damn at least put some coatings in their.

They literally bragged how the coating system would allow them to create content faster.

Yet here we are… barely any new content.

Last I checked it was still in the top ten of the Xbox most played games so I don’t see how it’s “dead”… Heck MCC is down in the low 40s of most played and I wouldn’t even consider it dead, not healthy but certainly not dead. It kinda boggles my mind that some consider Halo dead. I guess if you think games have to be #1 and most popular of all to be considered not dead then I suppose. Seems most need a bit more patience. Which is a rare thing when most have grown up to having everything at an instant.

Yeah

In simple terms the game isn’t dead yet, but it is rapidly dying as we speak. This game had so much potential and 343 has pretty much just let it go to waste….

I may be spoiled from the days of halo 3 and halo reach but seriously, no forge? No custom game browser? No changes to the store to just let me buy the darn armor I want at a reasonable price? No new maps? No firefight?

It’s like they just took a handful of feces and through it a wall and called it done.

The reality is we are still playing a beta

That’s what happens when you don’t support your game.
things should pick up again when/if forgre comes out.

Dead absolutely not but shooting themselves in the foot rapidly oh yeah

The difference is that RS6 bounced back with regular content & event drops, including promotions outside the game to entice people to play

If seasons in Infinite follow what we’ve been given so far this game has no chance

Content drop >> 3(?) month wait >> repeat

Also, I would implore people to lower their expectations for what the content drop would provide for this game, if it follows the MCC pattern don’t expect much outside some bug fixes, a new season pass & if you’re really lucky, a new mode and/or map.

Seeing as I still find games extremely fast, I’m going to say no. Wish it had more playlists/modes, maps, and a way to play objectives only, though.

It is certainly not a dead game.

But currently I am more inclined to play Half-Life games until this De-Sync issue is resolved.

Its dead
No stats
No ranked team slayer
No new maps
No classic Halo maps
Bad gameplay
The only thing 343 is removing geofilter and removed servers in the EU.

Agree with all but the last statement. Gameplay is phenomenal, but on a foundation of sticks and mud.

It was good gameplay until the last patch, aiming is all over the place now.

So, your response to these so-called ‘343 employees’ is to attack them personally the same way they supposedly attacked you? I may have to mute this thread soon, sounds like things are about to get nasty.

What am I doing that goes against the guide lines now? No one really believes the game is actually dead, so that comment isn’t for anyone that’s actually on these boards. The people making topics about “the games dead” are just trying to bait people into arguments and other nonsense.

Can’t really help it if people flag responces, I don’t really have control over what other people do.

everyone I see that gets hidden says it’s “This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.”. So it’s people on the site doing that.

I believe I’ve flagged like 2 or 3 posts tops on these forums since I’ve been here…

I’ve flagged like 2 or 3 posts max on this site since I’ve been here. I don’t waste my time on stuff like that when I can simply scroll past it to the next post.

It’s a problem when the community is given any sort of power on message boards unfortunately.

Halo Infinite is definitely more dead than alive! Enough with the BS.
Just because some of you can still enter matchmade games doesnt mean the majority of others cannot.
People dont have time to open the game , wait 5 minutes for the menu to load [or not load] with a 50 50 chance of getting kicked out of the game [or load into a game just by yourself] because of server issues.

I had a lot of friends to play this game… they faded away due to the horrible bugs , absolutely nothing left to grind, forced crossplay in rank, a terrible ranking system, etc. etc… and the simple fact that there are plenty of other games out there that even 20 years old that still feel more alive than Halo Infinite.

Everyone i know regrets being so hyped and excited about this new Halo coming out… we waited many years… for THIS?? What is THIS?
A broken game that was released unfinished for the sake of making fast cash, with promises of this (online coop] and that [forge] feature coming only a year later, while we make them money and spend more half your play time looking at the menu or restarting your console.

Now lets say you have no friends to play with and wanna try LFG on xbox… every month the number of posts goes down… now theres about 50 active posts… no more than Halo MCC… its a JOKE.
Soon, if not already, every new player to Halo Infinite wont even be able to find players to connect with through the official LFG function on Xbox or PC.

But its all good right? Halo communities are dying but hey, statistics say the game is still in top 10 popularity so that means theres still enough cat ears being bought for 343 or bubbled up fans to claim “its not so bad”. I hope for your sake you wont experience it like anyone i know, lucky you.

Personally I have nothing left to grind, its no fun playing by yourself or with bad latency when being pushed into a server halfway around the world because of DEAD SERVERS, and yes, folks, they already exist in this game that you claim is very much alive.
So i check once a week if the ulitmate reward is worth the grind (weapon emblems, what a joke)… current weekly event all leveled up and nothing left to grind.
I keep up hope every week only to have it crushed so
heres a fact. The game really IS dead and unplaybale to many more than 343 or fans like to admit.

I play halo since 2001, bought every Halo game, and from the days of Highimpacthalo to this day, i have never been more disappointed with Halo as i am now.

Ive been quiet for a long time now but clearly silence is the killer. Time to speak up.

Good day.

I have a feeling it can get really hard to obtain the Medic Achievement once the Elimination mode drops with season 2.

I still have vivid memories of the Halo 4 DLC multiplayer achievements and that it became really hard to find players for those maps. It was more about luck than about skill.
