I haven’t been on mp for a while, mainly due to no progress towards anything, I’ll be back playing when season 2 drops, it was just too long without any new content, think a lot of players will be back then, wether I’ll actually pay for season 2 it’s unlikely
Not sure, would the game be worth re-installing for season 2 or should one probably wait until more content? I just don’t see myself or others having enough to do with just 2 new maps and whatever meaningless stuff they have sprinkled in. I might come back next year if the game is finished though. Fun game.

My own take (everyone is different) but considering I haven’t paid $0.01 on this game that I wasn’t already spending being a subscriber to game pass and the fact that this is basically the only game I will play when I get an opportunity to game… no this game is far from dead, it’s actually just getting started.
I’ve played every single Halo game and this Halo is the only game to ever be my first choice since I started playing it. I’m hooked. I grinded all the way to level 100 in the battle pass (without purchasing the battle pass) and I’ve unlocked all the other cosmetics through the weekly events. I mostly only play Big Team Battle now because it is the most enjoyable “non-competitive” experience for me where I can try hard with a Shock Rifle and BR or mess around with a Warthog. If I’m not playing BTB it is usually quick play with a group of friends. Ranked isn’t very enjoyable for me unless I have the right group of friends to play with, teamwork can be satisfying. I’m not really a fan of BR starts because it is the easiest gun to use in the game since it has perfect accuracy and can be used at any range.
For some background, my favourite game to play before this one was Star Wars Battlefront II. I can’t believe the fuss people are making over this game which is free to play and literally just got released compared to what Battlefront II was at release. Almost every single game nowadays gets released at a poor standard, most games you have to pay to play meanwhile Halo Infinite is free, and it is still a great game. Two other franchises I play that came out the same year as Halo Infinite I barely touched are CoD Cold War or Battlefield 2042… those games were terrible in comparison to Halo Infinite and you actually had to buy them. Having played previous Battlefields and CoD’s I have no desire whatsoever to even touch the new games. Like it or not, this is the standard for new releases, it will only get better as improvements are made and content is added. Battlefront II is an amazing game today after years of work since it’s initial release date, Halo Infinite will only get better.
There is so much content to come:
- New maps
- New weapons
- New cosmetics
- A Co-op campaign
- New Campaigns likely or at least added content
- A functional Theatre mode
- New game modes like Infection, Firefight, Battle Royal / Warzone
- Forge
Proclaiming it dead is really just absurd.

Make sure that your NAT is OPEN in settings. If it’s not, go into NAT settings and select manual then scroll to the bottom number and select it. Then do the same but select AUTOMATIC. Keep doing this if it doesn’t work the first time. It can take 2-3 tries. Also go onto a device that has a wired connection to your router and make sure that you have the correct security setting’s. This is advice for anyone to improve matchmaking experience

Well, if this thread can be revived after a month of no posts why can’t Infinite be on its feet inside half a decade or so?
Completely unrelated, but I did once encounter someone who knew how to fudge the twenty character limit. It was absolute sorcery.

I think the weapons are broken more so by modders. The hydra with 20 rockets, cindershot that fills up a room, phasing through players, shooting through walls, invincibility, and shock weapons that kill you and kill again upon spawning. If these issues were handled, then focusing on weapon strengths would be a minor complaint (for me).

I think it is become so. The routine message of “There may not be enough players to support a game in this playlist. Please try a different playlist.” ---- this is for ranked. 6 months in and ranked is dead.

Playing during peak time I’ve noticed I am getting matches with over 90 ms ping, sometimes close to 200 ms. Seems like less people playing my region as it was normally 20 ms.

I don’t even know, I’m officially on hiatus with Infinite until 343 fixes the Desync & Unplayable High Ping lobbies

Bold of you make that claim without acknowledging that most of that is core gameplay that is missing, unfinished. The rest of the franchise launched with it, they did not. If the game does survive, the window of expanding into a new audience is long passed now. They could drop all kinds of content, but if desync isnt a fixable problem your hanging a chandelier in a haunted house. I leveled the season 1 bp to 100 without purchase as well, just holding off for a week or two while they get desync until control from launch, That didnt age well. When in a precision shooter, your shooting engagements are almost unrelated to your actual performance that is a very frustrating bit of gameplay to have be the backbone of the game,

You aren’t going to be hyped about things to come if you buy an ice-cream cone and they hand you an empty cone. Hype about things to come at this point ignores every action taken so far being in blatant bad faith or incredible ignorance, take your pick. Things to come don’t get credit if they fall into the category of “every other title in the franchise has had this on launch”, even more so when the performance has been dreadful.
I haven’t spent $0.01 on Halo Infinite (I already had game pass) and I’ve really enjoyed playing it so far. How could I not be hyped about that? Imagine complaining about free ice cream.

Maybe things will improve, but Im over 343.
My entire friendslist, comprised of Inheritors, 152s, etc, dont play infinite. Thats still unbelievable to me.
I wont touch it.
