It seems like Halsey is being backed into a corner where nothing she could do at this point would ever allow her to go back to the UNSC. She has gone traitor working with the storm faction stealing the other half of the Janice key regardless of her ultimate plan for it she wont be given the benifit of the doubt on this one. I just dont think her saying “this was my plan all along” is going to save her. So do you think she will be killed off in halo 5? And before you bring up the fall of reach book I’m sure that if 343 wants to change the lore they will.

No. Because she makes a speech on Reach in 258X. I cannot remember the exact year. If she dies before then, they will have to retcon Halo: Reach which I believe is unlikely. Then again Halo: Reach only exists because they retconned the books sooo, I might be completely wrong.

I’m sure if 343 really wanted to just botch the story and rewrite the history of the halo universe they would.
