So 343 are currently focusing on mcc and infinite and have left HW2 alone and for dead but will they ever return to keep it alive. Its due a balance update but once MCC is fully released on PC and Infinite is released and comfortably supported do you think 343 will have some thoughts about helping Halo wars 2?
I bet they’re gonna patch again, just don’t know when. For a while now, they’ve had only one dev for hw2, and even he has been working on multiple projects. Also I wouldn’t be surprised if corona is causing delays somehow as well.
That being said, the community is pretty robust, so I think we will get what we deserve. Twitch streamers and youtubers have prominent tournaments, as well as video guides for new players.
Side note: I’m personally hoping that Fort Jordan gets fixed.

Same. The game is really fun and enjoyable still to this day but you’re right. We will just have to wait
Seems about dead to 343 and CA. I just got hit by a bug that’s been plaguing the game since 2017 where my stats are gone in-game and DLC campaigns don’t save and I can’t even get support for the game.

Yeah hate to agree just no communication from them , oh yeah still bugs in there that should be patched, I’ve had the game crash multiple times to the dashboard mid online match, had my units vanish on screen when they are still “all there” in the all units function.

I mean at least in theory… at a certain point aren’t balance updates no longer required? I have played the game since it came out and I can’t recall a time when I have seen a more diverse array of leaders chosen by my opponents. I am kinda stuck in the Diamond/Platinum tiers though, perhaps the game looks different at higher levels.
Possibly not because they will be in infinite but maybe a patch no updates I could be wrong though
Sadly I believe so. Makes me sad cause it is definitely one of my favorite games. I think community wise its doing alright. Its really small but still alive somewhat.
I completely boycotted the game since the released Awakening the Nightmare without giving it to season pass holders. I’m sure others have done the same. Maybe if they gave season pass holders the last DLC there very well might be a small influx of players again. I know me and my pal would end the boycott and play again. It’s not about the money, it’s about the concept. It could go on sale for a dollar and I wouldn’t buy it. I recently made a thread on the forum highlighting some of the finer points of WHY they should do this.
Players who buy “ultimate editions” of games that come with the season pass assume they’re getting the FULL GAME especially when the description says “upcoming multiplayer characters and campaign missions”.

I disagree. Things are really balanced when compared to 2017 hw2, however I think balance changes keep the game feeling fresh. Learning new strategies when the game is updated is part of the fun for me.
I would be surprised if they cut support for hw2 without a announcement so i wouldn’t worry about it.
Well they did release a balance update a month or so ago. Not long after delayed infinite so it’s good to see they’re going back and giving it the tweaks it needs. Whether that’s the last update we will have to wait and see

I just started in August. I don’t care if the game is dead. I’m playing the Hell out of it and will continue to do so!

If the new Age of Empires goes well then they might get handed with Halo Wars much like what happened to Ensemble back in the day.
On the weekly reddit discussion post I saw someone ask a 343 guy if they had long term plans for halo wars 2. He said they were focusing on the MCC pc ports and then planned to look at other games, but cannot focus on them until then.

Seems like 343 are continuing support for Hw2. They added a balance patch for a new season and they actually tuned Kinsano so they might mix between the two if they need to

This really needs to boost up the population. If you’re in the Team Respawn discord server, it’s always poppin with players wanting to get together in Halo Wars 2. If you ever wanna play i’d hit me or anyone in there up.
I still have hopes that Halo Wars is not dead. It’s so fun and i’d hate to see it go so soon.
