is halo still viable as an esport?

I really like Halo for competitive and I’m interested in really trying to get good for competing. But I’m afraid that Halo isn’t relevant enough to start from scratch and by the time I might get to the pro level that it wouldn’t even matter anymore. So maybe I should focus on a game with a more active esports scene.
Because it seems like all the pros right now are the old school veterans and there is pretty much no new blood.

Halo is a very fun esport, maybe it is xbox-based and not as popular as like call of duty, but it still serves as an esport and is funny fun to compete in.

Of course Halo is still relevant as an esport. It has just had the biggest tournament in console history. Go for it.

While Halo has been dominant in the Esports market in the past, I just don’t think it should have been the major niche market for advertising because Halo has kind of been a go to game for the gamer who just simply wants a good time with his/her buddies.

I think it is definitely still viable as an esport. It was huge in Halo 3 and MLG Halo was the main event they had, but when Reach came around it kinda fell back a bit. Since the release of Halo 5, I think the popularity of Halo as an esport has grown again.

The biggest console tournament and prize pool ever… Yeah I’d say it’s relevant, and there’s plenty of new blood. Bubu Dubu and Huke are about to take over.

Halo 5 brought it back up as a viable esport for sure.
