The championships was great after what I watch I didn’t get to see the last match but I heard optic gaming won but yea, is halo going to continue?

If they have enough money to dump $1mil into the prize pool, probably yes.
People are still buying REQ packs apparently (which is dumb, cause I unlocked everything without paying), so they will keep it going most likely.
I’d imagine we’ll get one more HCS season before Halo 6 launches, and then we’ll have HCS events for Halo 6. I don’t see Halo esports going away anytime soon.

People will be buying packs so they have an unlimited supply of hard to get disposable reqs. I’ve seen youtubers that have tons, considerably more than I’ve earned in my entirety that I’ve obtained.
I don’t really care for Esports, but I think they’ll still continue.
As long as they keep generating enough money they will.

Esports events are awesome. Like the HWC yesterday, I got to meet some 343 people and Greenskull. And the plays the pro teams make, they’re sooo cool!

Me either, I do love the fact that we have tournaments and stuff. Like some small championships or the MLG of Halo Reach. What I don’t like is 343 forcing this overly-balanced game at us. Sure Halo 5 is fun, but look at Halo Reach and see how fun and realistic the gameplay is.
I want eSports to continue but for 343 to not put so much money into it…

Keep in mind the prize pool is funded by REQs. We got to 1.5 million because of the amount of REQs bought by players last year. We’re now past the one year mark for the game and a lot of people have unlocked everything, they have no need to buy REQ packs anymore unless they are gifting gold or the classic helmet pack to friends. Because of that, the prize pool was less because people were buying less REQs.

A good point… which is why some very-cheap-to-make (but appealing) REQ content would be great for that… modeling however, armor, new weapons, etc… that takes time and money.
Weapon/armor skins are just projected onto a model… relatively very cheap to produce. But they shouldn’t look out of place in Halo either.
A lot of the repeated armor sets are essentially this, I can just think of better ways to structure and apply these variants/skins… just to reduce clutter, if nothing else.

I would live to go and support the pros. What they do is amazing, and the dedication they put into the game deserves recognition.
Hopefully this last event with it’s appearance looking kind of small was a one time thing, and the events will get better not worse.

I would guess the same. I don’t know if we may get another Halo Championship tournament before Halo 6 is released but I would guess that it do continue.
I think 343s current focus are to develop the next Halo title which will get released in few years.

The mainstage was in a building while the spectators were in a tent outside. Appropriate since it gets hot here in Cali lol

Yes and no here. People likely are buying less packs now, but instead of funneling REQ pack sales into the prize pool for the HWC 343 are going to be pushing those funds into prize pools for HCS open events next season. Hopefully that will help to drum up a little more hype for those competing locally and maybe even see some new teams pop up

Yes , but the main stage was small and the number of spectators in the main area was smaller than some of the qualifier venues for the past season.
