I think Halo Reach is going to stop online multiplayer when Halo 4 gets here. Not only online multiplayer but all the fans of reach will go to Halo 4. What do you think?
There will still be some dedicated fans playing, look at Halo 2 and 3. Microsoft literally had to pull the plug on 2 and people still play 3. CoD4, WaW, and MW2 still have populations too. However you can bet there won’t be nearly as many people playing when 4 hits store shelves. Expect a player migration/loss similar to what happened to H3 when Reach came out.

Mostly this
Halo3 isn’t dead yet even when Reach is out.
Well, I guess reach will lose alot of players to Halo 4, but I just hope 343 industries keeps the online multiplayer up.
H4 was always going to take players away from Reach, maybe even get the die hard fans of H3 if 343i do multiplayer justice.
Reach is going to die come fall, when MW3, GoW3, Skyrim, and Battlefield 3 come out.
If it doesn’t, it will be utterly void of players come Halo 4.
Good riddance.
I’m pretty sure that Reach won’t die, but most likely there will be far less people playing it then people are playing H3 now.
Naw, there will still be people playing Halo 3 and Reach when 4 comes out. So yeah, unless the servers are shut-down for multiplayer, they will still have some population, even if it’s a few hundred or a couple dozen.
As long as online multiplayer stays up im happy.
Yes, Reach doesnt have hardcore fans like Halo CE+2 did.
True.
I don’t think it will die, but it will slow down for a bit. Halo 3 is still alive after Reach. AND NOBODY SAY IT’S BECAUSE REACH IS A BAD GAME!
Anyway, people have preferences, so I’d assume not.
Well, people still play Halo PC, CE, 2 Vista, etc. So I don’t see it being “killed” off.
it’s not going to die completely, but most players will migrate.
Reach will end up as Halo 3, it will maintain a small but steady population until the developer finally decides to pull the plug, which would be years from now.

I hope so, is anyone talking in this thread going to stay on Halo reach no matter what? I am.

It’ll probably be like Halo 3 for me. I rarely play it anymore but I do visit it every now and then.
No the Reach multiplayer won’t go away for the foreseeable future. The reason that Halo 2 was shut down was because the original XBOX Live infrastructure was dated and they needed to cut that out in order to make updates to the current XBOX Live system. Halo is Microsoft’s biggest title and the Reach multiplayer will be available as long as Microsoft is still supporting XBOX 360 and XBOX Live. I would bet that the next XBOX has a online network more suited to the current system so that everything is backwards compatible.

I don’t believe so, because Halo CEA will keep the population steady until 4 comes out. But I for one will go back and play for years to come no matter what.
Also as a final thought, usually when I am on XBL the majority of my friends are playing Reach. In fact, there are quite a few that that is pretty much all they play. It is hard for me to get into playing too many other games, because there are so is so much fun to be had in Reach with friends or solo.

Me too, right now I’m kind of in that rut where I’ve played all my current games and just drifting from game to game until this fall, but Reach has alway been my main game and probably still will be come fall for CEA, but I probably will be taking breaks for MW3 and GoW3 in between. But Halo will always be my home.
