No it isn’t. At least to me. Sure Reach had some positive points, it’s firefight is better than warzone firefight, but over all in the most important part being game play H5 is better.

I think a Halo game with the gameplay mixture between 3 and reach would be the best. I can’t stand the gameplay of halo 5, it’s too fast, too twitchy I dont even feel like I’m playing halo anymore. reach has it’s problems with gameplay such as bloom and abuse of armor abilities but I think reach is still far better than 5 in gameplay

Reach was total toilet in game play. Armor lock was the worse thing in Halo ever. H5 game play is solid. It may not play like classic Halo but at least it plays more like Spartans are supposed to be.

nobody actually liked armor lock but it was super easy to counter most of the people who spammed it were so terrible you could kill them as soon as they get out, the only part that was unfair and OP was when you went to hit them with a sword or hit them and then they got the melee off first because of armor lock, AL and Jet pack annoy me but at least reach feels like Halo, Halo 5 feels like a twitch shooter with everyone running in circles all the time.

Sad day when some think reach felt like Halo. That was probably one of the most unhalo games, if there is an unhalo game. Loadouts, no skill based rank except in one arena playlist. Only “credit” based rank that you ranked up no matter how bad or good you did. At least H5 has a CSR system in the usual playlist with equal starts. Armor lock completely ruined game play yeah sometimes you could sit there and wait then kill them but most the time you where taken out by one of their teammates who knew you where more likely low shields or no shields while you were waiting on their armor lock.

I think you were just salty that you couldn’t adapt to Reach. It’s a sad day when people think Halo 5 and it’s cartoonish art style with generic run of the mill enhanced mobilites feels anything like halo. Reach takes skill and there was the Arena sadly it just never really caught on for reasons unknown, its not like Bungie just abandoned Skilled competitive play altogether. And really Loadouts? Halo 4 had custom loadouts and for about the first 4 months of the game everyone and their mom used the boltshot which literally had a further 1 shot kill range than the shotgun. where did I ever say that there wasn’t loadouts all I said was that Halo 4 took the problem and made it much worse by allowing players to customize their loadouts. I don’t like Halo 5’s gameplay but I wouldn’t be snobby enough to ever claim that the game doesn’t take skill.

Yea I think reach is better. It had everything…it had the best multiplayer and campaign imo… also the armor sets in reach were so nice… Most of Halo 5 armor sets look horrible…

I don’t understand how someone can claim that Halo 5 feels more like Halo than Reach does. Halo 5 is too fast and generic now that it just feels rushed in gameplay, choke points don’t work out and map design sucks. Reach had multiple ways to approach a base or a choke point and played at a nicer pace with OPTIONAL sprint from loadouts, so you had to play to counter the other persons armour ability. Loadouts were NOT a problem during Reach because you almost always started with the same weapon but just different abilities. Also look at the last level of both Halo 3 and Halo Reach and compare it to the last level of Halo 5 in the campaign. Disgraceful. Also do Requisition packs and pizza skins feel very Halo-like to you? I don’t think so…
Dynamite is right, Reach was great but had problems, there was a skill based mode in the game and armour lock was super easy to counter in most circumstances, it was just idiots who kept running towards them and kill them whilst they were in armour lock. Also another member of the enemy team killing you whilst the other is in armour lock is a legitimate strategy whilst playing as a team, so don’t get salty if the team outsmarts you. If you’re outnumbered then pull back, unless you have a power weapon or other team mates.
I find Halo 5 almost impossible to defend, it is a BAD game from what you would expect from Halo, but in general it is an average game, playable but nowhere near the greatness that was Reach and pretty much all before it. Reach felt like Halo with a slightly faster paced gameplay through loadouts that change the way you play, not the weapons you use. Halo 5 feels like Halo 4 and COD: AW meshed together, with a Borderlands art style just without the cell shaded qualities and thick black lines, and mixed in with a little lens flare from JJ Abrams. The microtransactions are also very un-Halo, they are a disease to gaming and have no place in Halo. Keep them in counter strike, not in Halo, especially if they unbalance the game…

In terms of Custom Games (you can even play Chess), Firefight, and Armor Customization yes Reach is the best. And I think Anniversary Slayer gets the closest to classic Halo.

I would say Halo Reach was better than Halo 5 but the thing that ruined it almost completely for me was that there were barely any maps and they all kind of sucked. Especially since half of them were crappy forge remakes. The bloom was also lame since someone could spray you with a dmr and get lucky while youre trying to keep the bloom down and take accurate shots. Looking back, armor abilities werent that bad and usually didnt matter. I played bumper jumper so i barely used abilities. Still, I feel if it had comparable maps to the first 3 Halos it would be better than H5
