I don’t follow the story too much so if someone wants to jump in and tell my why, based on the trailer, that’s possible or not?
Just a thought that it would be called Halo One and be a prequel to Halo CE. I wouldn’t mind.

Also, if it were a prequel, Chief wouldn’t have Mark VI Armor. It’d be an older variant.
That and they’ve confirmed it is an fps starring Master Chief AFTER Halo 4.

Nope, it can’t work canonically. Halo Xbox One seems like a sequel to Halo 4, and seems it is most likely Halo 5. Also it can’t work canonically, for may reasons, mostly that chief never went to a desert, was trying to conceal himself, nor had Mark IV. I suggest reading Halo: The Fall Of Reach, since it is a prequel to the whole series, and also is a great book.

I’m not trying to support that Halo xbox one is a prequel or anything but in the intro Halo 4 cinematic all the Spartans have Mark VI. -_____________-

That portion was likely non-canon. Or a plot hole. In the CGI ad for Halo 4, we saw Chief being assembled into his traditional Mk. IV-V suit during a flashback. Not to mention him wearing his Mk. IV (The Package re-imagined) suit in Forward Unto Dawn.

Perhaps to save money. It didn’t bother me too much.
It was shown on book covers that a lot of Spartans used the same armor. Wether that was mk6 or not is a mystery. It was likely to showcase the new armor style. We don’t even know what planet it’s on.
Not to sound like an -Yoink-, but i just don’t understand what idea made you think it was a prequel.
I’m assuming you have been very busy over the past while and haven’t been caught up on thing but no its the sequel to Halo 4.
