Hey all,
So Halo Infinity was just announced at E3 and wondering where does it take place?
They say its new direction and lead up to Halo 6 so is it midway Halo that gives more story for Master Chief?
So this could be from Halo 5 up to Halo 6 but only with Master Chief view and considering the legendary ending, this could be the ring in question.
Looking forward to your suggestions

Well Halo 5 took place in year 2558. Someone told me that Halo infinity takes place in 2560. Donât know how true that is but if thatâs the case then chances things on my question massively haha!

its confirmed in the blog post it takes place after halo 5 focuses on chief
Iâd imagine itâs the next main game. It features the Master Chief as a main character and while its completely possible it could be a side story with Chief I really think the main story follows Chiefâs story. Now why it isnât called Halo 6 or Halo 6: Infinite is beyond me, but it could be related to Halo 5 having a subtitle and 343 switching to subtitles instead of numbers now.

I think itâs right that they coming away from numeicnum naming. This and new engine is maybe 343 way of taking helm and owner ship of the series more.
With this happening and ship infinity having same name I can imagine be something related to the ship and chief of course.
One thing I wonder though is what is state of the galaxy? Are they hiding in the ring or did they get activated?

I doubt that the Haloâs would have been activated at this point. It seems more likely that Cortana and her A.I. buddies intend to activate the Array in order to wipe out all life in the galaxy, making them the only oneâs available to hold the Mantle. The Chief, of course, has to stop them.

Only Humans can activate the Haloâs, so that may have something to do with it.

True, Seargent Johnson and Miranda Keyes were both forced to activate the Halo, Chief was almost tricked into doing so. I guess just have to wait and see what happens.
As a sidenote, where did you hear it was set 2 years after Guardians?

I been told and been said in this threat that itâs confirmed that it took place two years after Halo 5 G.
Heard was mentioned in blog post/dashboard but been unable to find it.

No it isnt. Its called Halo Infinity. Thereâs no 6 in the title.
Was Halo Reach Halo 4? No.
I believe Halo Infinity is essentially Halo 6. Since it seems to be coming to PC, it makes sense to break with the numbering system so that PC players feel like they can just jump in without having played the previous games.

Sorry, I didnât see it.
I strongly believe Halo: Infinite is the official name for what weâve been calling âHalo 6â.
I think numbered titles can turn people off. It could feel quite daunting to jump into a story and game at a stage as late as its sixth episode.
âI donât know any of the story so far. Iâll feel lost.â

That makes no sense whatsoever, that would go directly against the mantle of responsibility. Besides, the Created have technological superiority and seem to be able to disable any ship apart from the Infinity.
Also for everyone else, Halo Infinite is Halo 6, they said awhile back that Halo 5 was probably going to be the last numbered Halo game.

They will probably show it in the new game, maybe a recap. I am hoping they use Halo MCC to do Halo 6 beta, like Halo 5. They can get more sales out of it, if they release the patches they are working on it. They can probably use MCC to give some detail to the story or something idk. But we will see more soon lol. There is still a lot of time until the game releases.
