I thought I heard a while back that infinite was coming to Xbox one. But I haven’t heard about that in a while and it’s a relese game for series x, So is it coming to the Xbox one or will I have to get a series x to play to?

It’s been confirmed to release on Series X, One, and PC.
Yea, it’s cross-gen! Xbox One Family, Xbox Series X and PC.
Nice! Thanks guys.
I actually think that’s pretty cool.

Oh thank god I didn’t want to buy an X-series so soon
I’m going to be interested to see how Infinite fares on the current Xbox. Like, what sacrifices will have to be made to make it run nice and look nice? There’d probably be benefits for playing it on a good PC or the SX instead of the X1 though.

Probably, not that it matters on my 1080 tv. I just want to play it as soon as possible since I won’t get the series x for a little while after launch. It I’ll probably look good Xbox one x enhanced though.
Yep it’s coming to XB1/PC/XBSX
Yes, the game will be playable on all Xbox One console variants, the Series X, and PC.
What we’re not sure about is cross-play between the various systems yet. Or even if it’s going to be the exact same game.
I believe there is a precedent where despite a game being “cross-gen”, the version of the game that released on the different generations was actually a slightly different game with different features, graphical tricks, etc. I can’t remember what titles did this previously, but it has happened.
The first ever cross gen Halo game. It’ll be interesting to see comparisons.
Breath of the Wild turned out great, so I don’t see any reason why Infinite will be significantly negatively affected by being cross gen. As long as the graphics are decent and the frame rate is stable, I’m happy.

I hope that both versions are complete, and the Xbox one version isn’t half made.
It’s should be Cross-Gen if they’re releasing it for both Xbox One and Xbox Series X. I think it’s going to be cross platform as well if there’s a PC version coming out so the online community will definitely be massive.

Black Ops 3 on Xbox 360 and PS3 didn’t have a Campaign mode.
Forza Horizon 2’s Xbox 360 version wasn’t made by Playground Games. It was made by Sumo Digital.
Titanfall 1’s Xbox 360 version wasn’t made by Respawn. It was made by Bluepoint Games.
Rise of the Tomb Raider’s Xbox 360 version wasn’t made by Crystal Dynamics. It was made by Nixxes Software.

Okay, thanks for the examples.
If that’s the case, then I’d guess we’re looking at parity between the different versions of the game because I’m unaware of any outside developer focusing specifically on one version of Infinite versus what 343i is working on.
I guess it’s possible that 343i has multiple internal teams developing separate variants of Infinite, but that seems unlikely.

There is no chance the game will be “half made”.
There will likely be aspects of the Series X/PC version which are absent from the Xbox One version simply because it’s a weak/old console.
343i can only optimize its way around weak hardware so much.

It also will be on pc and it is cross generation
Yes.
ALL Microsoft first-party games will be cross-gen through 2021 or so. Matt Booty has confirmed this fact.
I’m predicting that the first next-gen exclusives (no Xbox One support) will launch in 2022.

What I’m hoping for is a PC-like approach for this. They dont make games just for Intel i5 or just for Intel i3. Its one game that just performs differently on different hardware - but the key is that its the same game that goes up or down in performance the more or less metal you throw at it.
I want to add it will be on XCloud as well. If I remember correctly, all games on Game Pass will play on XCloud. All First Party games will come to Game Pass. If not that, console streaming will be definite. I would find it difficult to not see it on XCloud due to Halo 1 through 5 and ODST, Reach, and Wars are all on XCloud right now.
