Is Halo Infinite actually releasing early?

PC player here. Never bought Xbox game pass and I plan on purchasing the so-called early access bundle on the Microsoft store assuming I’ll be able to link my progress when I eventually launch the game from Steam. The end goal is to play with buddies on steam so if playing the multiplayer on steam has a different login then xbox (wasting my time and efforts of buying early), I guess I can wait.

Cheers.

Platform doesn’t matter mate, you just need an Xbox Live account similar to how Master Chief Collection and other Microsoft games do their thing on PC. Progress will link to all platforms you sign in and play on as well, I’m positive.

Yea, I don’t see a reason as to why PC players on steam won’t be able to pick up from where they left off assuming they bought the early access version (assuming it comes out Nov 15)

There is no official word on early access, whilst it may of appeared briefly on Microsofts website, it can also just be something linked to the press being able to download it. As much as I would love to play it early, I’m just assuming I’ll play on 8th until there is an announcement, if there will be one.

I agree.
It appeared and disappeared in the exact window for outlets to have downloaded it for a preview phase.

On the one hand, I do think MS pulling off a stunt like this would be a bold marketing tactic. In recent years, game releases have been plagued with delays and disappointing launches, and a studio actually dropping a game early would be a huge statement, and earn them plenty of ‘community satisfaction’ points.

On the other hand, I know a lot of people make plans around game releases, organising their lives and planning vacation, etc. I know I’ve booked a couple days of work. Dropping the game unexpectedly early would be more annoying to be honest. I might not be in a position to play for any length of time, and will have to go into spoiler avoidance mode until I’ve finished. But that’s just me.

Though I think it’s likely linked to making it available for the press. It’s probably still in the store right now, but just hidden unless you have an invite.

Technically early access games are incomplete games and that’s what 343i are doing on 8 December 2021 due to missing features like COOP/Forge…even if it’s not being marketed as an early access game. Also it’s not coming out earlier than 8 December 2021 unless 343i decides to release the game earlier than planned.

Yeah I wondered the same thing, I saw some strange articles and verbiage as well. I wouldn’t doubt that they would drop campaign at least a little early, especially since the game is coming out on a WEDNESDAY of all stupid things.

If they dropped the campaign on Friday 12/3 I would be happy with that, but also a little peeved considering that co-op campaign isn’t available on launch, yet they can drop the full game early.

Yeah, its highly likely thats it. Why would they announce a new edition so close to launch (and they havent even actually announced it yet).

No

Well the same can be said for the collectors edition that sold out.
