Is HALO Infinite a small story?
HALO Infinite is said to be real “6”
Actually it is not numbering.
Despite being the story after HALO 5,
I think in not a story that approaches to the heart?
If it is HALO 6 it should be the last chapter of trilogy
Personally I hope that HALO Infinite will be HALO 6
It’s as if it were HALO WARS 2
(I like the HALO WARS series to the best)
Infinite is 6, & im sure it will be big.
Infinite is 6. That’s already confirmed. I would also find it ironic if a game titled Infinite had a small story
343 announced way before Halo 4’s release that they wanted to drop the numbers.
Halo Infinite IS Halo 6.
In addition to the other comments, 5 included the subtitle “Guardians” as a transition of sorts from the days of numbers to only words after “Halo.”

Although most would refer to it as ‘Halo 5’, and Halo Infinite will likely continue to have the same case
:43 has confirmed that Halo Infinite IS Halo 6. Their vision for the game is so ambitious that they’ve built an entirely brand new engine.
With so many things in the picture, I don’t think Infinite will be a small story. We got Guardians, Cortana, 2 Halo rings, aaaand the whole situation on The Ark. I think if 343 plays it smart and smooth, we can have one of the biggest Halo stories ever.

Yeah that’s true. In many cases, it’s easier to use numbers. I like the route 343i is taking with naming conventions though. They seem to be very big on building a universe, so it’s a good way to unify games, books, and other media.
It better not be a small story. I know this isn’t really what you meant, but I’m sick of Halo games getting shorter and shorter. Halo 2 had fourteen playable levels. Halo 4 only had 8 (many of which felt the same) and Halo 5 had about 7 full levels split into miniature ones. I’d be fine with the level numbers getting lower if the levels were much larger/longer with more variation between levels like the Halo trilogy had (although the Anniversary graphics often make all the Forerunner areas feel the same).

It is Halo 6, but the trilogy was changed to a saga, so it’s possibly not the conclusion as a saga is a “long and involved story”. I think 343i have shown a step in the right direction, hopefully get more story info soon.

im guessing that this new engine will need the last gen of xbox´s, rigth?
HI is Halo 6, but since HI will have a simiple story. The question is how simiple and how much it will forget about Halo 4 (since H5G basically killed Halo 4 story).
Halo Infinite is 6 and 343 already announced that it won’t be the end of the Saga

You’re forgetting most the levels in halo 2 were effectively 1 level split into two parts

Exactly and that is why Halo 2’s campaign will always be the GOAT. Halo Infinite’s campaign should consist of long missions and about 12/+ missions.

I didn’t forget that. I compared the Halo 2 levels with Halo 5’s before typing this. Each Halo 2 level is a lot closer to a full level in terms of length and variety (especially variety) than any of those Halo 5 levels. For example, compare Outskirts with Glassed or Delta Halo with Swords of Sanghelios. Halo 5’s levels feel like quarters of a full level, whereas Halo 2’s levels hold up on their own.
Although there are scarce details on Infinite’s story, Frank O’Connor did mention that they were taking a similar narrative approach that was taken in Combat Evolved, as well as wanting to make Infinite accessible to new fans story-wise. I’d say there will be a simpler approach to the story overall, with a lot of lore padding it via terminals or data pads. Although Infinite is technically Halo 6, they are using it as an opportunity to soft-reboot the franchise and start off a new major chapter in the universe.

Hopefully it’s one where the Created aren’t in it past the story Halo Infinite tells.

I think the only interesting thing the whole Created storyline would be if Chief gets assigned a new Cortana model who has the same personality/writing, but none of the memories from previous games.
