Is halo going to lead the FPSs? or trail?

COD Ghosts v BF4
COD Ghosts v BF4 2 - Better IMO

Don’t get worked up about the small stuff, give us something good for us to get worked up about.

Honestly Halo led the FPS’s for almost an entire decade. But it was swiftly kicked off it’s throne on 2010 and has since struggled to attain it’s former glory. While one can blame Reach, it was mostly due to the wealth of games that came about from 2008 and onward, Halo’s grip was weakened by this and when Reach came it lost it.

I don’t think Halo will ever lead FPS’s again, but it can certainly reach the cream of the crop, it’s close already.

Pretty much everything this guy said.

I don’t think next Halo will be the new thing that shows other FPS games how its done.
I’m certain Half-Life 3 will do that, when ever it comes out.

Halo hasn’t lead FPS since 2010. As others have said, it can be heavily attributed to gaming becoming mainstream, and other franchises finding that goldilocks formula for game design that made it more appealing to larger crowds. Halo won’t lead FPS ever again, but that doesn’t mean anything about the quality of the games.

I’d say 2009 when Halo 3 dropped below MW2

I dont know. if Halo does reach the top its going to have to share the throne with destiny,titanfall,bf4,and the division

Talking about Half-Life 3 on a Halo forum? Half-life 3 confirmed.

Pretty much this. Its probably also why 343 tried disastrously to follow in their footsteps.

Imitating what’s current won’t make halo lead, neither will going back to ‘classic’ halo, as noted by MW2 already dethroning H3. The gamer population has shifted.

This doesn’t mean halo can’t be successful though, I mean, look how well halo 4 sold initially. There’s obviously still a market for halo.

Halo will be remembered but it will struggle to beat BF4, CoD: Ghosts, Destiny, and maybe Titanfall.

There’s still a lot of interest in Halo, and there’s still a lot of Halo left in Halo. It’s just the poor to mediocre management that is preventing Halo from reaching it’s full potential.

I hope 343i and Microsoft can work as a team and get their things together, because I really don’t want to say goodbye to such a good franchise in this stage.

We need new unique ways of fighting in an FPS.
Since Halo (I’m not sure) will come after the buzz of the FPS games, it will not have any competition, it can implement the other FPS’ unique trademarks that don’t destroy gameplay, it should have ALL the Previous Halos’ trademarks, options, gameplay, and gametypes.

For example, a Classic Halo( All Gametypes and features) and an Infinity playlist with even more sorting out with after you chose one will have ranked, and Social playlists, from there you will get the average Halo options, and be able to edit your preferred… Next we need the Forge 4.0 discussed on the forums. We need theater mode for everything. We need destructible environment (some maps, but can fall differently each time). We need a longer and even cooler and dramatic Campaign with Scarabs, Lichs, and that mysterious Halo feel to it. We need a new engine, all vehicles and weapons( with LOTS of new and balanced weapons) We need a few old remixes or just bring some songs back. A new game- changing feature in multiplayer, Spartan Ops, GIANT Battles, Remakes, sorry 343 but a non- canon multiplayer except a few things. Finally a comepletely redone firefight-Link click me this will change everything

BIGGER LOBBIES

Newer enemies, and long-time old friends, and foes

Cover Sanghelli civil war.

Precursors return

All armour from previous games, but also add newer ones.

Balance/Nerf Loadouts and Ordanance

Add something crazy awesome that will last us with lots of hours

Space Battles

Vs/Place bots

Campaign should have that RPG like essence(COD didn’t do it properly)take a book from starcraft.

Mini games playlist

Ability to download and put things on your fileshare without hard drive

8-32-48 players in lobbies( Amazing if it was 100vs100)

They should give us a beta to find their mistakes

Helmet Flash light

VISR from ODST

Duel Wield

Clan Battles

Give us something where we stategize ( Halo wars basically except YOU fight the battles, and can be played with 8-32-48 players)

More tactical weapons, and more pistol types please

All AAs and new ones

Give us back equipment

Promethean Vehicles

These will make Halo more than just an ordinary or used to be best shooter.
Don’t forget smart moving would also be good and we should be able to “control” squads in gameplay if they are AIs. Also we should have a clan playlist.
These will make us shine. And let us say HALOFTW

THIS IS THE POTENTIAL OF HALO

And how about we don’t die when we go in water. I mean you are outfitted with millions of dollars worth of equipment, but you die to water. XD
I mentioned an all classic version of the gametypes.

The trick is maintaining that initial pop.

Halo with 32v32 BTB’s would be nice.

what halo needs is to go back to its roots. but at the same it needs to add some new things to the table. remove AA, dmr, and custom loadouts, possibly sprint but add things like larger maps and bigger player count new equipment and power weapons, a new main mode that goes in the tier of campaign and forge. New game modes like fore example a halo wars type game mode only in fps. something like this.

Thing is that they need to read most, if not all our posts on Halo Xbox One, then will Halo truly be the best. Besides removing everything so its classic and adding from there would not be the best, nor will it receive good feedback from those who don’t play Halo, it would be a literal reskin of Halos 1-3, instead it should be separated- classic to infinity and should be built up from their Halo 4 and if wanted, make a Hybrid between consisting of the new additions and the classic playlist. I think the key here instead of going back to its roots, should be sorting the old and the new apart. It is not the best to scrap 6 years+ of work when it works. This is my opinion so please don’t go all crazy on me.

> I dont know. if Halo does reach the top its going to have to share the throne with destiny,titanfall,bf4,and the division

The Division isn’t an FPS, and we all know CoD ghosts is also gonna sell a ton.

Well if I remember correctly in one of the books a group of Spartans jumped into an ocean and almost drowned because their suits started to take in water… So how can a suit that allows the wearer to walk around in the vacuum of space but not be water proof?

If your talking about Halo:GOO, that was Tom and Lucy I believe one of them didn’t have all their armour and there suits were severely damaged. They were SP3s anyway they had cheaper armour then Sp2s. Plus game play doesn’t equal canon.
