Simple question. To elaborate, I mean do you think Halo is on the decline and/or on the path to the series dying. Unfortunately from what I have observed it seems that this is so. I just wanted to here some other opinions on this.
It could go either way. For now, I would say no, but that could change after H5.
It’s not the #1 game in terms people playing online MP anymore and there are a myriad of reasons why which have been debated to death. But in terms of story and how much fun I have playing the game, it’s still on the rise and may well explode in Halo 5
On the multiplayer front possibly, but from the lore and campaign wise hell no. Besides that is the most important anyways. MP should always come second to story always. However I do not believe MP will be dead after H5, but that is just something that we have to wait and see. Also in b4 naysayer oracles predicting negative or positive futures.
Just fyi for those who have been replying to this post, the above is my personal opinion, so if it attacks your beliefs on the matter I am sorry, but I am going to be staunch and stick with my guns.
MP died after Halo 3 with Reach, now we have a 343 Nu-Halo.

I disagree.
It has been dying since Halo reach came out. Halo 5 could be it’s saviour. It all depends on how well they look after their community and improve on existing features. If it isn’t as feature packed as Halo 3 was the game will fail.
no… lesser ppl play halo multiplayer…that’s about it

What? What keeps people playing Halo for years? Is it the 8 Hour story or the Sandbox multiplayer? It’s not even a contest, yes the multiplayer is fun but no-one in their right mind would pay £50 for a game they can complete in 8 hours or less.

Well I’m insane because I buy and play Halo for the campaign; the only time I go into MP is either I’m playing with a group of people I know or just going for achievements (or playing with a group of people because we’re going for achievements) MP just doesn’t interest me that much. I’ve said after nearly every release maybe this will be the one that gets me back into MP but it’s never really happened
Yeah, the multiplayer is what have kept Halo going this far.
It is one of the reason to why Halo 4 was such a failure, because the multiplayer really wasn’t that good.

I honestly have to agree. As much as I love Halo (campaign included) there are far longer games with way more depth and at a fraction of the cost if you’re just looking for a singleplayer experience.

So I am out of my mind! I only buy HALO to play through the story over and over again! So the " 8 hour or less " becomes 50 hours or more, only by playing campaign. The story is what got me into HALO and unfortunately a lot of people do not realize that the story isn’t just about the games.
I have only played multiplayer to try it and play it with friends if they insist.
Currently Halo is not dying

What the user above said.
I enjoy video games solely for the stories they tell, and Halo is the only FPS I play because the story is just that good. That is why I have stuck with the franchise for the past decade, and dumped more money and time than I care to admit into not just the games themselves, but also the books, comics, encyclopedias, etc. The multiplayer is fun, but it’s just an ancillary feature for me. So it’s not very fair to make umbrella statements about people being “out of their mind” for that not being what draws them to this game.
Nope, I think Halo 5 will be the true successor to Halo 3 that 4 never was.
Halo is not dying. Not in the slightest. Unlese you are on Waypoint. Then it’ll definitely seem like it’s dying
I honestly don’t care what others think about Halo being in decline or not, especially basing it solely one multiplayer-based assumption. I’ve played every Halo for the story and will continue to do so.
When it comes to MP, yes but it’s holding it’s own because their are so many different games with different MP styles that it splits people. Halo has a great lore and that’s going strong with the books, the videos, games, but overall it strong not as strong as in Halo 2 & 3 with the multiplayer aspect not so much
No. Stop asking.
