Halo isn’t dead, one game doesn’t kill a franchise we don’t know anything about the new halo, so how do we prove that it is dead.
Sonic the hedgehog isn’t dead, any sonic fan would agree that they will get a sonic game because they one day hope that it will be incredible. Fans don’t simply abandon a game. There is some fans that will leave the series but they aren’t anywhere near the total fan base.

Yea I agree I think Halo has decades left in it but some people don’t.
No, it isn’t, these disprove the theories to why it is failing:
People Prefer CoD or Battlefield
Reason:
Yes, CoD and Battlefield are popular, but most Halo Fans were Halo fans because it was so different from CoD or battlefield, Proof: CoD 4 and Halo 3 Released the same year. CoD 4 was a instant Hit, arguably the best of the franchise (I myself prefer WaW), but even up until Halo Reaches Launch, Halo 3 maintained a insanely good population count, even during the Days of CoDs biggest success, by which I mean the Golden trinity that are CoD 4, 5 and 6. People left for other games after Reach and 4’s leaps and bounds from Halo’s roots.
People are close minded
Reason:
There is a distinct difference between being close minded and being unaccepting of new, “unfaithful” mechanics. Being close minded would be: I HATE IT ALL GIVE ME HALO 3.5 NOW! The latter would be: Ok, I like choosing between CCs, BRs, ARs and SRs, but DMRs and LRs ruin map flow, as do Boltshots (in their current form). Also, the spawning with stickies and PPs ruins vehicle combat, that should go to. the randomness perks and AAs from spawn add to the game are highly uncompetetive
The future of gaming is like this
Reason:
Plain -Yoink!-. there were class based shooters way before CoD that couldn’t keep up with Halo. Halo’s niche as the last successful FPS Arena on the market in 2007 was because it killed the others off, and became a monument to their sins, not because class based killed the others off. The only 2 really successful Arena game (series) exist on Xbox 360, and they are Halo 3 and the Gears trilogy. notice, how when the sister company to epic that made Gears Judgement incorporated class based features into the game, the majority of gears fans rejected it, much as Halo players did to reach. My point here is, If your Fanbase is built around an arena game, when you change to class based, which CoD and Battlefield dominate, your fan base will reject your game, as titles that do it better exist, and you messed with the gameplay people liked the previous installments for.
Halo is no longer relevant:
Reason:
If Halo was no longer relevant, then why, before we found out how trash Halo 4 was, does Halo 4 have the best initial sales of the franchise? yeah, not relevant at all.
and this argument about no competition in the past? Quake 4, The Orange Box, CoD 4, BF: Bad Company (1 & 2), Star Wars Battlefront 2, Timesplitters and Doom 3. All these games or some relative games in their respective franchise competed with the original trilogy at some point. No Competition? I hardly think so. There was MORE competition.
Halo fans now have Families:
Reason:
Whats this supposed to defend? seriously? is no person in parenthood capable of having time to play a console? Seriously, parent would simply play it with their kids FFS. I have a real life example, my friends dad is in his forties and would play Halo 3 and Reach because he enjoyed them, 3 was his favorite. he stopped at 4. What does that tell you? When I have kids, I will show them Pokemon, Halo (should Halo 5 be a true halo game), Destiny and so on, Half Life 2 and so on.
Many features in Halo 4 do not belong in Halo games, or mainline ones involving the Master Cheifs story, as these should stick to the original formula, while adding not changing core mechanics. give infinty style its own game, and you can knock yourself out, but it shouldn’t be part of Mainline Halo games
But to answer your question:
Halo isn’t dead, it’s just missing in action.

I agree I don’t think it is dying and that is stated in the video.

Who cares what other people think don’t be concerned about them
This trailer has 3 million views, the trailer proves a lot of people are interested in the new halo

Yea I agree
Halo isn’t dead yet, but it needs CPR and if Halo 5 fails then it will be.
Nope. Halo is far from dead my friend. Even though Halo 4 displeased most fans (in all honesty, I have no idea why), there are still many hardcore Halo fans (like myself) who are eagerly awaiting the next Halo installment. If you want to see a dead franchise, check out Call of Duty. I heard that it is rapidly losing its fanbase.
What Light said. It hinges on the next installment.
Now that I think about it, “dead” in this sense is pretty subjective, isn’t it? Maybe define “dead” OP?
Personally, Halo will never be dead as long as I can have fun with it.
No but Halo will be if Halo 5 fails.
Halo’s far from dead, it’s on a decline. I mean Halo 3 was the one of the biggest and most popular games ever at the time. Even Halo 4 has sold near 9 million copies, that’s far from dead, but I do think it will be on a fairly steady decline for a while.
Like some other franchises, Halo is on a decline but not dead. 343 should be able to “revive” the Halo franchise with Halo Xbox One.
> Like some other franchises, Halo is on a decline but not dead. 343 should be able to “revive” the Halo franchise with Halo Xbox One.
Seems unlikely. When all the 360 Halo’s released the 360 was the dominant console, but now it’s the PS4, so that already lowers the number of buyers. Also I feel like with the coming of titan fall and Destiny that will make some people switch over to them. CoD and BF4 already got hit by the fact that a lot of new AAA shooter franchises are coming to be, so Halo will likely get hit as well.

If sonic the hedgehog has manage to survive, halo will too.

Sonic the hedgehog? It’s hasn’t been that popular for over a decade.

It has been quite popular for a long time, sonic lost worlds was one of the most hyped games for the wii u… Until they #*@% it up but sonic fans still stay faithful, just because not much people talk about it doesn’t mean they have a tiny fan base.
Edit:
Buy sonic generations on xbox demand you will love it
Halo dead? Never!
