Is Halo CE: Anniversary Worth It?

If you’re asking yourself this question, or you’re wondering why you didn’t like it, follow this.

Halo CE: Anniversary is worth the $39.99 if:

  • You liked the Halo 1 (Combat Evolved) Campaign mode.
  • You liked the multiplayer maps from Halo CE.
  • You want to give Halo: Reach’s Multiplayer a shot without paying full price.
  • You’re a true fan of the Halo series.

Halo CE: Anniversary is NOT worth the $39.99 if:

  • You did NOT enjoy the Halo 1 (Combat Evolved) Campaign.
  • You thought that Anniversary would have it’s own Multiplayer mode based on Halo CE’s original Multiplayer.

Well it’s only $60 and you get a great campaign and multiplayer… you can’t get much better then that

> Well it’s only $60 and you get a great campaign and multiplayer… you can’t get much better then that

$40

In my country games are always $120 not $60.

$42.76

But yeah I mean it’s worth it fully.

  1. Replay the old campaign experience with the latest graphics or switch back
  2. More halo achievements
  3. Updates for reach
  4. Maps for reach

Great deal especially if you’re playing with a friend who joined in the halo 3 era.

Hate to point this out but there are no “true” fans. Only considerate fans who are willing to appreciate any Halo.

I definitely think it is worth it, plus I got my HALO CEA at Toysrus and they gave me a $10 gift card for purchasing it this week. Great deal!!

Do you like Halo?

If the answer is yes, then the answer to your question is yes.

Fix’d for accuracy. Thank me latter.

Off-topic, but why is there a list function… kinda redundant.

yes there are True Fans out there, and they will buy anything that says halo regardless of how good or bad, Halo isnt perfect, nothing is perfect, and those who whine because of Anniversary? go whine somewhere else, 343 made Anniversary as a gift to fans.

Dude, that’s called being a “fanboy”. I’ve now added a new word to your vocabulary. Thank me latter.

Did we really need a post highlighting the fact that if you liked the game, you might then like to buy it? However low our opinion of people has become I think we can still assume they’re still capable of buying things without the supervision of the internet.

Also, the rhetoric of what a “true fan” is is -Yoink-. A fan is a fan, worth only comes from your own need to exclude people who you don’t want to value.

I think as long as people realize what they are getting; The greatest campaign ever made, and a chance to modify Halo Reach to simulate the confines of Halo CE’s multiplayer platform then it is absolutely worth it. It is a must have for any true Halo fan. I think some of the confusion comes with the expectations of individuals who had unrealistic expectations of what Halo CEA was. This is not 343’s first true foray into Halo. They had to work within the confines of what Bungie had previously established. In an effort to leave the game unchanged from Halo CE they were forced to work within the framework of the original, in terms of graphic mapping to the original. Beyond that, in an effort to not split the Halo Reach multiplayer and release 3 seperate complete multiplayer experiences within a 3 year window, they were only able to modify the multiplayer playspace. (Halo Reach, Halo CEA, and Halo 4 (next year)) IMO GOTY. But I am clearly biased and Halo CE is my favorite game of all-time.
