Is halo becoming an aristocracy?

A few powerful players are now controlling all of halo. Let me explain. MLG has abandaonded Halo and people want it back. 343 is catering to these tryhards more than the community. They give us loadouts and “customization”, but in the end, the most powerful gun is the BR. The game should be balanced, ESPECIALLY if given loadouts. I am so tired of not being able to use the carbine, because it sucks, and the MLG tryhard wantabees want to use their BR/boltshot combo. The BR can still be in MLG gametypes, but it should not be the most powerful gun. They need balance in this series.

Um, given how universally hated the competitive community seemed to hate the Boltshot, why are you accusing the MLG crowd of loving it? Incoherent rambling and blaming a section of the community that isn’t controlling 343 Industries decisions-making isn’t going to get you anywhere.

I really don’t get this continual argument that the BR is too powerful. The weapon in the hands of a skilled player will always dominate. It’s not the weapon, but the user of it.

People seem to forget or just not realize that Halo is more about decisions, and awareness, yes, a good shot is helpful, but it is not the only thing.

In regards to your aristocracy remark…well…I do think that 343i is going to take a step back and make this next Halo return back to its roots of what made it great. That doesn’t make it an aristocracy just them hoping to bring Halo back to where it was in popularity, and known for competitiveness. Why is that a bad thing? I sure do hope they listen to the competitive community. Equal starts, I don’t care what weapon, the BR, DMR or Carbine, just so we all start the match out the same.

Oh and I am so far from an MLG player it is not even funny, maybe a tryhard, if that means I try everyday to learn something and get better.

No. Halo is not anywhere near close to an aristocracy, especially considering how we ended up with default sprint, and all the other Infinity additions like Ordnance.

If anything we need the next game built on competitive settings. “You can make a competitive game casual, but you can’t make a casual game competitive”.

Halo 4 is the prime example of this statement, and why MLG abandoned it.

I don’t get the argument either. The Covenant Carbine is actually superior in every way to the BR.

Well…the only downfalls compared to the BR are less aim assist (or good) and its single shot function which punishes the player more for missing a shot…otherwise I agree.

The poll is pretty biased and inaccurate. There is no MLG community :stuck_out_tongue: I agree it’s stupid to have one OP gun making the west of the sandbox useless but saying it was only the competitive community that complained is not true.

Slower killtime, less kills/reload, slower reload, and more punishment for a missed shot. Where is the Carbine better?

I think it is pretty balance now. Automatics now rip -Yoink- in CQC. The carbine is great in mid-range if you’re accurate. BR is great in CQC (two burst and a melee) and mid-range. DMR is versatile in that it’s effective scoped or from the hip, great at mid/long-range. Lightrifle is superior at long-range with a 4SK scoped. Each weapon is balance in it’s respectful area of use.

Now about the carbine sucking, it’s a great weapon if you get the first shot and you use it as an ambush weapon. It can go -toe-to-toe with the BR and win if you don’t miss. But that takes a lot of skill, and I doubt you’ll kill a average BR user with it, let alone a tryhard. Fact is, in the hands of a capable player the BR will beat any starting weapon in mid range, and sometimes CQC.

Then I must be a special case.

The BR is not the most powerful gun in the game. It has its uses like every other weapon but that does not make it all powerful. People say the AR is a weak weapon but from time to time you run into a player in a match that uses it so well the BR looks like a plasma pistol (although this is rare). I’m not even really a great player in terms of multiplayer but I’ve won Regiside matches against all kinds of weapons using a simple suppressor or Storm Rifle.

343 Industries is not going to cater to a small group of players at the expense of everyone else. Microsoft would never allow it. Not only that but from what I have seen I don’t think the 343 team would even consider it.

Besides, anything you can do with BR more then likely some other player has managed to do with a DMR.
