So I wanted to know Halo 5’s population and after not finding anything I just decided to create my own numbers from as much info i could gather.
I just simply added up the numbers from unique forge map creators, ranked players and an estimated casual players beside the ranked and this is the number I came up with. I did this about 2 weeks ago so I doubt the numbers drastically fell or rose.
Some people say it’s population bounces up and down which makes since because alot of people might just return for the updates then leave.
A few things to note is that the ranked numbers don’t specifically say if the people have placed recently and could just of been people from release. Each time I recalculated over bearing amounts of casuals into the mix 300,000 always seemed like the safest bet and honestly would explain why 343i hasn’t been excited to throw out numbers but are faithful that they can keep the community going strong with more updates.
300,000 IMO isn’t bad but I don’t have the numbers of the classic Halo’s numbers a year after, so I can’t compare. At the very least 343i did WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better with Halo 5’s MP then Halo 4 but that was never in question.
For those of you wondering why I did this or made a thread. I’m a numbers guy, I just like seeing numbers. I’m also tallying up various games population numbers. I’ve been trying to get a pin on League of Legends specific numbers by region for a bit and started on Overwatch Console numbers about a month ago but road blocks here and there have greatly slowed down progress. Such as finding a way to celebrate my fathers birthday, tomorrow.
After I’m done with those I’m going to look after Gears of War 3.
P.S. Gears 4 is an awesome game, so can the 343i fanboys stop trying to justify Halo 4’s horrible MP with “It was 343i’s first game.” They made terrible choices and htat’s it. They’re made up form some of the most veteran people in the gaming world if we’re meant to believe those all those news outlet who wouldn’t shutup about it before Halo 4’s release.
It’s a terrible excuse for a terrible game and they made up for it by making Halo 5’s Mp pretty damn awesome even if it isn’t as sticky for me as compared to the classics.

so by this metric we know that there are currently as we speak less than 5,000 people playing halo 5 right now world wide

Oh lord, 5,000? I refuse to believe that 343i think that’s a healthy number. Perhaps they’re looking for hte spikes that come up with each update but damn it can’t be that low. That’s worse then halo 4.
While I don’t play Halo 5 because I felt it didn’t draw me in like the others i the past I still knew it had a good foundation but damn.
