Is Halo 5 with it?

After MCC came out, I dug through my old xbox games and pulled out Reach. I’ve been playing it for about 2 weeks and really miss the fun of it. Would Halo 5 be worth buying?

Well that depends, Halo 5 is a bit faster paced than the Bungie era games with a greater emphasis on movement. For the most part the multiplayer is pretty fun in ideal conditions (strong internet connection), but BTB got shafted and WZ is a huge disappointment to me. The campaign is mixed, the gameplay and design is good, but the story is lackluster. I think you should probably look up some H5 reviews and check out a few streamers and make the choice for yourself. FYI H5 is not apart of the MCC.

Get Xbox gamepass… maybe you can use the Free trial and download it. Im pretty happy i just had to use 1€ to complete the game and test out the Multiplayer.

The Campagne… i really disliked it but the multiplayer was cool even tho i felt the game had quite low player count and i had the feel i saw the same 3 maps. I kinda wished to just be able to play the MP more often but not really want to have 120gb on my HDD filled with that game. So i just play the free Halo 5 Forge on PC from time to time.

IMO honestly not really. Maybe try it out on game pass or pick up a cheap used disc. H5 has a bit stronger population but of players who haven’t been playing you would be walking into a slaughter house. H5 is a tough game to learn and the req system while somewhat a good idea it was implemented very badly. The campaign gets bit more hate than it deserves. The missions can be fun and the environments are great but the story is lame. I got a new Xbox for Christmas and haven’t even bothered to reinstall H5. MCC is a way more fun Halo game IMO.

I’ve been along for the entire Halo journey and Halo 5 is one of my favorite Halo games in the entire series. It’s the only Halo multiplayer I’ve thus far still never gotten tired of. I still love Reach so much, and plays the other MCC games a bit too, but I can get burned out or not be in mood. Halo 5 has a special feel to its gameplay that makes its multiplayer so much fun. I definitely think every Halo fan should experience it, especially since Infinite comes out next year and you’ll probably want to be caught up on the story.

On that front, it’s not as mixed of a reception as Halo 4’s story; it seems pretty unanimous that Halo 5’s is the worst. I haven’t encountered a single person who likes it so far. But the campaign gameplay is a lot more fu than 4’s to me. I can only recommend H5 if you’re into the multiplayer side of this, in which I say go for it. Of course, as UnheardCARNAGE above said, you should always watch gameplay to get a feel for it before purchasing, but it has a huge offering, objectively by far the best Forge and custom games experience in the series (it even has a custom games browser to join other people’s custom matches in-game, or let them join your own), has the best Infection, best Fiesta ever (so much fun!!), best CTF, lots of interesting new weapons & abilities, a good BTB, lots of map variety thanks to the amazing Forge, the most varied SWAT ever, fun new gamemodes, when they’re available in rotational playlists the best Grifball ever by far and Action Sack, and so much more. And you can search for tons of custom gamemodes & stuff for customs. If you have friends who’ll play it with you online, I don’t know why you wouldn’t get it. But keep in mind it doesn’t have splitscreen, so, sadly, no offline play

Most people seemed to like 5 when it came out but YouTubers started a trend of hating on everything 343 does, everything that’s new, etc. On the internet you’ll see tons of people trash talking it and that is the main reason why. There were several issues at launch but 343 released tons of awesome free updates and transformed it into something beautiful and they still support it.

Not worth buying for me really, i felt the game like a step back from Halo 4, who was more funny, had better map design, better locations, narrative and even stronger art style.

I choose xbox one over ps4 just to try Halo 5 so imagine how big was my hype for it, when i fire it up and see the lack of colour in graphics, the level layout, the weapons, the technical miss here and there (30fps animations for enemies in your face, shadows, dynamic resolution…), the pacing all over the place, and the end of the story so far, i felt bad about it. The game its so much coop 4 players oriented, dosnt feel like a classic Halo singleplayer campaign like 4.

Maybe you connect with it, but wasn’t my case, i tried to give it a second chance not long ago and i can’t finish the campaign again.

Try it on GP or buy it cheap, but tie your expectations low.

Probably no, if you’re after story then give it a try since it’s story will connect with Infinite and you may want to try HW1,2 since it’s all going to link with Infinite. MCC in the long term is a better game, isn’t as predatory as Halo 5 plus H5 restricts most it’s mode to online only while MCC everything can played offline.

Yeah it’s absolutely worth it. You should be able to find a copy for dirt cheap at this point (or just get Game Pass). IMO, Halo 5 has the finest multiplayer mode the series has ever seen, though you might have problems finding games in some the more obscure playlists (Slayer, Arena, Fiesta, and Warzone playlists are fine, though). The campaign’s story is…iffy, but it still has some cool levels that host some of the finest infantry combat arenas in the series.

Game pass is worth it and it has halo 5

If you can find it dirt cheap, as in either thru Game Pass or picking up a used disc, I don’t see why not. The multiplayer still has a decent enough population. The campaign story sucked, but it’s decently fun to play through.

If you’re looking to invest a lot of time and effort in a primary Halo game that will be a big center of your attention though, maybe better to stick with MCC for now and wait for Infinite.
