Is Halo 5 too fast pace?

I don’t know If its just me or it is. I remember one of the reasons I like halo so much over other arena shooter was that it had a very nice pace to the games. I find playing in custom games with all of the gimmics turned off its a lot more fun. All the people I play with have seem to enjoyed it more. Its kind of bad at times because a lot of maps even forged ones expect you to have clamber and sprint.

I just don’t get the feeling I got playing the other halos in halo 5, Even halo 4 with everything I hate about it, it still had a better pace then halo 5, on top of that because of the speed you move at the vehicles are useless. At this point I have gone back to reach for the most part, Its the only halo game other then 5 that has a good population, Its not bugged out and it plays at the pace I expect halo to play at.

So is it just me or does halo 5 have too much of this next gen “gotta go fast” stuff. Also would you play a classic playlist if they added it.

It is fast paced

Considering the fact that kill times are barely any faster than Halo 2…no.

It feels great to me. I don’t think any game can factually be too fast paced, that’s firmly rooted in the “opinion” category.

It is

Too fast I think. Maybe I’m just old.

It is quite fast paced, but not too fast paced.

Halo 1 and 2 were probably the same pace. H1 was probably faster pace. Halo 3 was too slow pace. Sprint gives you the illusion that Halo 5 is fast paced when it really isn’t

Halo 5 is much faster than any previous games not due to TTK but the increase in movement options available to players.

Its fairly obvious when you go back to older versions of Halo. It’s so easy to land shots as both you and your enemy are basically lumbering at each other. Now, a good Halo player is gonna do his best to make sure you miss and with these new movement abilities he can.
So in combination with sprint and small maps engagements are fast and they happen more often.
Personally I like the faster pace, players can pull off some seriously amazing and skillful engagements.

I don’t have any problem with the pace

It’s definitely faster, but it works. I like it.

I think it’s reasonably paced, TTKs had to go down to compensate for the fact that everyone’s much harder to kill than they used to be due to how mobile they are.

it’s certainly more twitchy than halo reach or halo 3/4 were but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. High Octane arena gameplay feels fantastic when it’s played skillfully, it really makes you feel powerful as a player.

100% this
I went back to some old halos recently (and watched some gameplay on youtube) and it really is astonishing how little options you had in previous games compared to what you can do in Halo 5,

In retrospect, this was exactly the kind of mechanical change Halo needed to remain relevant in the multiplayer scene, it adds depth to the gameplay while still remaining true to classic halo experiences.

That’s right. I’ve never understood the dislike of change in this series and it always makes me chuckle when for example COD is thrown out there for sticking to the one formula and always selling bucket loads. That is not true however playing COD five years ago, ten years ago it was different … it has changed … evolved …

Halo needed too as well … and 343 got most of it right imo the additions they made to the gameplay, modernising while still retaining that feel of Halo.

Pffff. fast pased? go play some oldschool Quake, Unreal, Tribes: Ascend, … and then we’ll talk

I see no difference really.
