Too hard, too rational. Won’t illicit a negative response or flame war if he were to use reasoning. Probably has none to begin with.

As far as I can tell, Doom did nothing innovative. It just did they same thing it always has and proved that can work. Fun, solid gameplay is never outdated.

Having gameplay that focuses on glory kills but still sticking with it’s faster run and gun roots in itself is innovative. When DOOM was first demoed at lat year’s E3, it was slow and dumbed down so expectations were low and that it may be turing intoa halo/cod clone.
But it didnt. And I was certainly impressed. Right now it’s my current GOTY and easily my favorite shooter of the gen so far

It’s a silly thing to argue about, but that’s not innovation. That’s not a knock on the game either. Innovation isn’t necessary for a game to be fun, or even exceptional. They made the right choice.
Bethesda even said that somewhere along development they had to seriously rethink things because it was looking too much like “Call of Doom” or “Battledoom”. A smart move that benefited the games reception (though they strayed from it’s roots on the MP side of things unfortunately).

I wouldn’t call a multiplayer that forces you to play sweaty a good one.

what dos this even mean? That the MP is too tense? Theres plenty of casual modes like warzone and BTB

Then simply don’t play sweaty. It doesn’t force you to do anything.

It means there always skill based matchmaking in effect. He can go into BTB and still get destroyed if he’s not staying on the top of his game. Social in Halo 5 is social only in name. It’s not just a mindset like some people think it is, it was also a more casual experience because the matchmaking allowed it to be.

Yeah I’m not about that tryhard life either, but I wouldn’t really blame that on the game. The new wave of e-sports has that effect.

Halo 3 did the same thing I believe. The only difference is that you didn’t accidentally find your rank on your Service Record.
Social Gaming was always social in name. All loose matchmaking does is allow high ranking players to match up with low ranking players and pubstomp, and then we’d be getting complaints about that.
Social is a mindset, because all that’s needed to break it is people who play seriously.
Well, I really enjoy Halo 5.
I can say that is the best multiplayer that halo have

I dont recall any halo game that didnt have rankings or skill-base in some shape or form in all modes (except Halo 4 and to a lesser extent Reach because of they’re casual garbage playlists) even the social playlist in Halo 3 rated you on your w/l ratio that would effect what level of rank you were (like Captain 1 or Captain 3)
I mean even taking that aside, Halo 5’s gunplay and overall balance is still one of the better Halos. It just needs better, more refined maps and less forge maps.
Nothing will save it’s hideous campaign though.

Okay I’m gonna stop you right there. There’s not a single Arena playlist that isn’t ranked. Some might be more than others, but there is no such thing as social playlists in Arena. I remember seeing a guy having Grifball as his best ranked playlist.
Always hearing so much smack about Halo 5 these past few months has been really exhausting. Your beating a dead horse, man.

False. Loose matchmaking restrictions allows you to play at your leisure, not have to play your best all game. Is there a top level player on the other team? That’s fine, because everyone else is of varying skill. You’re not playing against an entire team that’s your skill level or higher, there are people beneath you as well. If people needed to warm up or just lay back for a game where they could do decently without getting destroyed, Social was the answer. That’s no longer the case.
That’s why there was never any complaints of these supposed pub stompings you’re talking about. It’s a proven system and your hypothetical issues were never a problem.
I don’t really care about playing dress up. Its not a big deal to me, I think Halo 5’s customization is fine, aside from the reskins of the same armor 10 times.
Halo Reach and Halo 4 are still tied for worst Halo game imo.
Halo 2 will always be the best. Followed by CE and Halo 3. Halo 5 lands behind them. I think its a great game that just lacks playlists and maps.

Thats not true whatsoever.
