Ok
Didn’t check out the board for a few days, and look. Surprise surprise, another anti Guardians thread.
The thing is…the campaign from the first three halo’s was so monumental, that anything in comparison looks so inferior. Unfortunately, many here can’t understand that perspective, and thus you see words like 'worst, ‘terrible’, ‘awful’. Of course Halo Guardians is not terrible. In fact, it’s even quite good. Game critics and the fact it’s a competitive game for E-Sports are proofs that it is a GOOD game.
What most members here mean that Guardians conflicted with the Halo Universe. Yes, the campaign has it’s flaws. Yes, some choices were unfortunate. But I gotta go offtopic for a sec here as I’m a bit sick of something.
Technically, it shouldn’t matter. But seeing these extreme terms being used is really quite annoying. Sometimes, I wonder if some people ever heard of rational thinking. It seems to me some folk either think of something as a 10/10 or a 1/10, without there being a middle ground. When criticizing, please use some nuances.

Are you saying LethalQ’s point doesn’t make any sense?
The worst Halo?
Are we going to forget about Halo 4?
And even Halo Reach?
And Master Chief (failed) Connection?
Halo Reach sent Halo down hill.
Halo 4 kept it going downhill.
Halo 5 is fixing Halo…
I prefer Halo 5 to Halo 3…

Goood times…
If your looking at the campaign, then yeah, it is the worst. But for the multiplayer, i have to say it is the best. As in right up there with halo 2 and 3. I love so much about the multiplayer i could go on for hours.

Least amount of content? Halo CE and Halo 3: ODST (Halo ODST only had campaign and firefight) had less content.
In my opinion, Halo 5 is the most balanced, most competitive, and best looking Halo to date. The campaign was disappointing, but the MP is very fun and challenging. 8 months after launch there is more content to keep me busy. Warzone is very fun too.
It is not the best Halo but is NOT the worst. Halo 4 would be the worst IMO, and this game is a huge improvement on it.
In my opinion Halo 2 and 3 are tied for worst multiplayer in the series.

This guy gets it. I believe the campaign was disappointing, but Halo CE-3 were so big anything seems worse when compared to them. I have learned that looking at both sides of an arguement is the best way to make a point too.

Halo CE Did not have less content
look up the game types and maps CE launched with
Halo 3 ODST was originally slated as a DLC for H3 but was then used as one of the two games Bungie owed Microsoft to fullfill their contractual obligations
So I don’t really count ODST as well, but for the sake of argument we will count ODST
H5 launched with the 2nd less amount of content
much less then H: CE H2 H3 H:R and even H4
It might not be the worst, but it sure is the most disappointing to me.
The Campaign is trash, not just because they lied to us about the HuntTheTruth thing but also because the actual plot is terrible. The beloved character who we all thought was dead is actually alive and has become a villain. What a twist.
The Spartan AIs have never been dumber, I’ve lost count of how many times I saw them stand in front of an enemy doing nothing. Locke and Tanaka are lame and Buck made me cringe (“Must’ve seen their buddies getting their -Yoinks!- kicked and decided to get some too”, cheesy af) although I loved him in ODST.
I had a blast on the beta and was sure the final game would be awesome, but man I was wrong. This game’s all about who’s got the best automatic weapon. Seriously, the autos have never been that strong and SmartScope (which btw was supposed to be nothing more that an aesthetics thing, nice job Quinn) is only making things worse. The Magnum’s the only gun that requires skill. The frag grenades are bouncing nukes, the splinters are not used as “area-denial grenades” and are annoying as hell, Spartan Charge is cancer, the spawn system is trash (and not just for the players, for the power weapons too), the ranking system is dumb, Theater is completely broken, we’re still missing too many gamemodes…
I was really let down by this game. I was so hyped, I had faith in 343 because I think that Halo 4 was a letdown because they were building their game and their studio at the same time, that MCC was the result of multiple/too many teams lacking of coordination or something, along with the stupid deadlines, but this, this is all on 343.
Like the Prophet of Truth said, Halo’s destruction was your error, and you rightly bear the blame.
Halo 5 got the best multiplayer in the halo franchise, I agree with you about the campaign but the multiplayer and this new req system are the best thing we ever had in a halo game.
H4 was by far the worse halo game.
Halo 5 is a good game but a not so good Halo, I enjoy it but not nearly as much as other Halos in the past. I think it’s anot improvement from 4, but not by much.
To be completely honest im not sure… the only way we can possibly check is to have all of the analytics
of halo 5 like…
how well sales are going?
how gameplay compares to older halos?
how the fanbase has grown or shrunk?
how different ai work?
but in my opinion the one and only thing that really bugs me with halo 5
is the misleading update names for example “memories of reach”
i was expecting all the armors of noble team (i’m fully aware we recieved them)
a falcon
maybe a focus rifle?
reach models of the DMR and AR
and a revenant because who doesn’t love a fast moving wraith?
instead 343i gave us the armors and a bunch of other random things like the new phaeton?
well then now that im done ranting i have to go do my homework because im in yr7 and its 1am and i have to finish my assessment
due tommorow.
PLS 343 read this!
Yep the lack of customisation wasn’t great but the worst part now is there’s too many armour types, an over-saturation of emblems and it just looks like a cluster-bomb of stuff all over the place and is poorly organised. As for the campaign it was ok but it wasn’t overwhelming, the multiplayer is still nowhere near as good as the proper Halo games.

Just wondering. What makes the H5 MP the “best thing we ever had”?
In my opinion as a follower since halo CE a MLG gamer and a game dev halo 5 is tied for worst flop with MCC. The matchmaking is cartoony at times in game sound is broken half the time, the teams are never balenced evenly. While Warzone could have been amazing instead we are left with a pointless land grab before assaulting AI bots where one or two early game kills guerentees your team wins because you will have acsess to tanks and snipers planes and rockets while they at most can pull a scout hog. The spawn in areana modes are comparable to cod in that you can’t take two steps without dying and respawning miles from your team and Infront of someone’s shotgun. The campaign was sloppy and the friendly AI is a downgrade from reach. I would rather have cat driving than try to have kelly even hold my tea. Only saving grace is the custom games. Those are the best yet but it comes off as lazy to give us scripting abilitys that don’t ever work in the slightest. Atleast reach had firefight but it took 5 a few months to add infection which was like the #1 thing in halo three and my personal fav thing in halo.
Ive said this before and il say it again ,bungie had there way of doing things and 343i have theres ,i loved what bungie brought to the table and i love what 343i have done with it…if didn’t like the game i would never have bought it.
