Is Halo: 5 the worst Halo?

> Another side note is that people are comparing Halo 5 to Halo Reach and saying Halo 5 was “better”, yet Halo Reach sold 9.85 million copies while Halo 5 sold 3.88 million copies.

A few things:

  1. the 9.85 million is from the launch of Reach in 2010 through until right now. That’s sales over 5 years. Halo 5’s 3.88 million is from Oct-May: 7 months. Does it make sense to compare those two numbers to you? Maybe share the sales from the first week, which, I’m sure will still be more for Reach for the following reasons, but dude, use some sense.

  2. More people bought Reach off of the success of Halo 3. You think after how many were disappointed with Reach, Halo 4, and the MCC fiasco, the same amount of people are still going to loyally buy new copies of Halo 5? They’ll get it used, at best. Hell, I know people who didn’t even bother getting an Xbox One after how much they hated Reach and Halo 4. They were done with Halo and Xbox altogether.

  3. So sales isn’t a reflection of quality or else by that logic Justin Bieber might as well be considered Mozart, right? And Call of Duty is the Rembrandt of video games? lol

> If bungie cared why’d they sell it?

It was Microsoft’s property. Bungie was contracted to make Halo for another 10 years after Halo CE, which is why they made 2, 3, ODST, and Reach. Once that contract was up, Bungie wanted to finish making Destiny and went with Activision as a multi-platform the publisher because they couldn’t self publish.

i feel it was a gateway to make more possibilities for other sequels

J

It’s a vicious cycle, man. We’re passionate about the game, and we find fault in it. It started all the way back in Halo 2 - Halo 3 was too perfect and escaped the cycle, but literally every Halo game has undergone the exact same thing. ODST was half–Yoinked!-, Halo Wars was franchise -Yoink!-, Halo Reach messed up the canon, Halo 4 ruined the multi-player with sprint, and now, Halo 5 screwed up by not having split screen and the REQ system. I feel like 343 made some unusually stupid mistakes with Halo 5, but it’s far from a bad game.

> In my opinion Halo: 5 is the worst halo ever made, and personally I am offended by it. To me I feel 343 does not care about the Halo universe the way Bungie did. Halo: 5 has less armor customization ability than Halo: 3. What I mean by that is you can only change the entire armor set (legs, shoulders, chest all together) and the helmet. Yes, you can change the visor but big deal. Halo: 3 allowed you to change both shoulders, chest, and helmet. Don’t get me started on Halo: Reach (halo customization heaven). Yes, Halo: 5 has a lot of armor to choose from (and I mean a lot) however, most of it is recycled garbage. 343 seems to have shown no effort or creativity with the armor.

> The campaign in my opinion was utter -Yoink-; it was too short and ended terribly, and let’s not forget the fact that the previews for Halo: 5 were NO WHERE near accurate to the campaign. I feel 343 is just trying to get as much money as possible, something that can be seen with the new REQ system which allows you to buy the packs, making unlocking new armor pointless, and not even a challenge. I cannot begin to express how frustrated and down right upset the lack of effort that was put into this game makes me.

> I feel Halo: 5 was a giant middle finger to the Halo community and we all sat on it. There’s so much more that is just terrible about this game, and you all know what those things are. We all have our own opinions. Some of the things I hate you may love. I do love some features of Halo: 5 but, they aren’t enough to save it for me. I want to hear what you think. What’s your opinion on the game?

Your not wrong at all I agree completely with everything

Multiplayer is amazing but the Req system blatantly rubs it in your face to use micro-transactions for war zone. I spent maybe $20 on a pack of 9 gold reqs and got piss all. If your not in it for the loot grind and just want a fun game with your buddies its the best fun, but trying to get the Halo 2 BR gets harder every-time they add more req content. They need specific reqs IMO.

the campain could be better but i love the multiplayer

I’d like the return of individual armor point customizations, but the worst Halo? Far from it. It’s actually the best multiplayer I’ve played to date imo.

no, but it also isnt the best… The customization is a good feature, but I like the classics like Halo 2. If they made a Halo 2 updated with Halo 5 content, it would be amazing…

reach and halo 4 begin

Not the worst. I know the campaign had some bumps, still enjoyed it and multiplayer is great. My least fave Halo is Halo 4 though. I still love all the Halos and cannot wait for 6

I agree Halo 5 is a huge disappointment, the worst of any halo game!!! But that being said, it’s considered to be best because of the fast pace MULTIPLAYER and “innovative” Warzone (if you’ve ever played a moba type game, Warzone is no new concept) And because it’s multiplayer, it justifies all the mistakes of the campaign. I’m being sarcastic of course. To me and many other Halo fans, multiplayer is no excuse for a -Yoink- game. As 343 has said in the past, “it’s just an experiment for future games.” THAT’S WHAT EVERY GAME IS! It’s a mistake/leaning thing, except they aren’t learning from their mistakes. They just call it an experiment to continue to drive the Halo universe into the ground…

Sad truth is Solo Story modes, are dying. Slowly but surely they are, and Halo is the Prime example of how its affecting gaming.

Sometimes it’s better to just find the good things that come out of the game. It may be not a interesting as the other halos, but still people play it and enjoy it, What would make the community happy is if they would listen to them way more than assuming that they know what’s right

Reach customazation was heaven

I get faster matches in Halo REACH with just 130 players playing in a certain game type (at the time there was a total population of ~ 9000 players). Chew on that for a while

The point is people made their own choice to stop playing due to lack of interest, the top 10 is just to point out that people are lying about Halo 5 being the best or most popular Halo in the series. It really does sound like you can’t accept the facts by making assumptions to provoke responses. It’s one of the worst selling Halo games in the franchise…that speaks volumes over anything involving top 10 since right now less people are buying the game, less people are playing Halo 5 than any previous Halo game.

But having even a tiny, supportive fanbase is all ANY franchise needs.

> And that’s where you and others differ. You only care about having fun (which is fine, that’s not meant to sound negative). The other people care about more than that, they care about franchise as a whole.

Not true. I care deeply for this franchise, which I have literally grown up with. (Started playing at age 4, in 2003, with Halo: CE.)

But I’ve spent too long being SERIOUSLY, EMOTIONALLY hurt because I over-concerned myself with the people who simply don’t like it anymore, or didn’t like it in the first place. Seriously, I actually cried sometimes because I couldn’t stand that there were people who didn’t like it. At this point, it’s HARD for ME to have fun playing the game because it always makes me remember that not everyone likes it. In a literal sense, other people not liking it actually ruins my experience. So I try to ignore the population.

At this point? I’ll be happy if Halo even remains with a cult following. So long as they can continue making Halo games, even if the budget goes down, I’ll be happy. The longer we support them, the more Halo games they can make. The more Halo games they make, the more chance they have to make a solid, good one. So the way I see it? I want good Halo games? I’ll continue to buy their products and offer proper criticism, rather than just leaving. Those who simply leave (and thus, lower the population), can easily be considered as simply “no longer fans”.

Reach is the worst Halo followed closely by 4, imo.

> Personally I have a blast. The multiplayer is perhaps the most balanced out of almost any game out there. Despite I disagree with parts of the story, the campaign was fun. The campaign is still better than Battlefield 4’s campaign and it is looks like a master piece compared to Black Ops 3 campaign which became the first Call of Duty to get me really really bored. I can’t pick the best or worse Halo. It is like choosing best or worst choclate ice creams for me. Is it perfect, no. Is it fun, hell yes.

this!!!

I’ll go out on a limb here and say you’re probably one of the only ones who feels that way for that reason. What I said obviously doesn’t apply to you.
