Is Halo 5 the best multiplayer option?

I been a halo fan since Halo 1, but in all these years I’ve played a lot of multiplayer games (like RDR, COD, GTAV V, Assassins Creed), whatever it is I always return to halo.

Currently, games like Overwatch, Destiny, Battlefront they do not call my attention or they are just really bad, so the question is: Halo 5 is best multiplayer option currently?

It’s largely a subjective question. Some people think it is and some think it’s not. It depends on who you ask.

Personally I think it’s not.

In my opinion no, I think it is a very unappealing and stressful mess. But apparently there are people that like it (god knows why). But if games like overwatch, destiny and battlefront don’t seem like your type of games then halo 5 is not the way to go.

Heaven forbid people like things you don’t like. The abject horror!

Like chimera said it’s just you me personally like battlefront 2 but it’s just whatever floats your boat I guess

I love it! I don’t like competing against other people or killing them even though it’s only a game. But Warzone Firefight allows me to play with others as a team, and I can do that all day.

Also, I don’t know too many other shooting games that allow us to customize and choose our own genders and appearance. So that is a huuuuge plus in my eyes (ok, truth be told, I don’t really know much about other shooting games).

Halo is really the only shooting game I own (and Perfect Dark) and I’m totally happy with it.

If you’re just looking for a good time, you might have to do some searching around for what styles of gameplay you enjoy. Just look out for the sleazy corporate cash-grabs that are in most modern videogames – including Halo. coughmicrogamblingcough

On the other hand, Halo is definitely the way to go if you want to improve your gameplay across the board in FPS games. At the very least in terms of triple A games, Halo takes a lot more skill to succeed in than the rest. There are plenty of reasons why, but the main two are that you and your opponent begin each match on even ground (forcing you to out-think and outplay them instead of just spawn with OP weapons) and that Halo requires you to maintain accuracy over an extended period of time (as opposed to the “spray and pray” tactic that usually succeeds in triple A shooters)

If you’re active in the Halo community, you’ve probably heard these things a dozen times, but it sounds like you like to expand your horizons, which I think gives you a bit of an edge in any game. Adaptability is any gamer’s best friend, and it’s common among regular Halo players.

Yeah it’s subjective. Each person has a very different opinion on Halo 5s multiplayer:

  • Some claim it is the best one yet, mixing massive 32 player battles with a successful arena combat all combined with a decent microtransaction system. - Others say it’s too fast paced with rip-off mechanics and a shocking focus on competitive making it a sweaty capitalist money-making solution.Personally I think it’s alright. The arena is fun when you can find a game here in Aus and Warzone isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. Like all Halo games, its a great game to come back to but I don’t think it compares to the competitiveness of Halo 2 or the brilliant casual gameplay in Reach.

I never said i had a problem with people liking it, I said I don’t know why people like it. Could you please not shove words into my mouth.

Overwatch is probably your best choice if you’re a console player. Halo 5 is good for arena, but the warzone is a broken, pay-to-win mess. CSGO is pretty popular on PC, but I’ve never played it myself. Same goes for PUBG, although I heard it sucks on the Xbox. Don’t know if they fixed it. Fortnite’s good, although I personally think it’s a bit overrated. Other than that, Titanfall 2 is solid and Battlefield 1 has good multiplayer too.

If MCC wasn’t broken I’d definitely say that. I have the same drama as you, I just keep bouncing between BF1, Star wars, Halo 5 and Ghost recon.

If you like to play Slayer, and only Slayer, then Halo 5 is the game for you. It is NOT, however, the game for me…

I’ve played since launch, really don’t enjoy it anymore. Got quite worried recently by Frank O’connor’s comments about the REQ system being unobtrusive. Basically it’s okay but it won’t last so you’d probably be better investing in another game that’s gonna stick around for longer instead of sinking your time into a game that isn’t going to have a player base a year from now.

in my opinion it’s not the best multiplayer but it’s pretty good. I usually stick to warzone and social game modes though so I can’t really speak for competitive stuff

For me there really isn’t a current go to multiplayer game. I played cod ww2 a bit just because I hadn’t played a cod since BO2. I’m just waiting on a good multiplayer game to be released that catches my attention to the point of past Halos. I may be waiting a while

In my opinion I think halo has an alright multiplayer but there are many different games out there what makes it fun for me is playing with a team full of friends granted any game could be good as long as you enjoy it

Exactly.

You find a lot of newer generation players liking Halo 5. I myself being a Halo player since the beginning, do not find it the best. I like the Halo 2/3 time period. Does that mean it’s a bad game? Not at all, just more so I prefer the original gameplay.

Ditching the “it’s subjective” argument, the most played games are generally the better options as they have the higher player counts and they have those numbers for a reason.

if you’re wanting to use the “it’s subjective” argument then it’s whatever you like to play the most.

if you’re wanting my opinion: not even close. I’ve deleted H5 months ago, I barely played it in the last year when compared to when it first came out. I’ll still dabble in RB6S, overwatch, gears 4 and halo mcc when it comes to multiplayer shooters.

It’s fun game-play! I dislike the armor unlock system with micro-transactions. My personal favorite for multiplayer was Halo: Reach!

I havent played anything else curent besaids destiny 2, but in my opinion comparing just that I would say halo 5 is better due to lack of repetiveness, for me destiny 2 has zero replay value in every aspect of the game. But like everyone is saying, the question is very subjective. I know alot of people are on starwars battle front 2 or pubg. And as far as halo games go, i liked reach more than halo 5.
