I was just wondering is the halo 5 ranking system just going to be sr like 4? Or is it going to be like reach and halo 3, I would much prefer individual ranks for each level rather then just grinding a number, (I’m aware that we will have arena and they will have individual ranking based on you’re standing) but what I mean is like lieutenant & general and field marshal not just another bland halo 4 reskin.
I’m not 100% but I think it is the SR system again. So SRXXX will be your ranking when you top out. I don’t think they have said what the top is yet but maybe I just haven’t heard. And you are right there is the ranks within Arena playlists.

All playlists are ranked. Arena has a seasonally reset league ranking system. No confirmation on a purely exp. leveling system beyond earning Req. Points based on performance.
Seems a good ranking system. But being dependant on team wins is dissapointing 
I f your the only one on your team who is any good and the rest are pap u sill get penalised.
Yeah the arena is a amazing idea , I loved the challenge off getting onyx within reach and I’m gonna enjoy this also, I was just hoping we would have some sort off progression system other than sr50 sr130 because I think that’s boring and is just lazy work when bungie put alot off work into the progression system (like every new rank you level up you get a different emblem by you’re name) but I’m happy with the arena system, but I would like to see a change other than just going up to say sr500

Its not that different from the halo 3 ranking system. Did you read the article I linked?
^Your article doesn’t answer his question. He’s asking about an overall ranking system, not the competitive ranks that are different depending which playlist you’re in. I too am interested if this will be in Halo 5; nobody has seemed to talk about it.
The SR system will be the main rank system for normal play, from stuff like Customs, Warzone, and Arena, but in Arena, IIRC, the CSR system will be used, and will have ranks such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Onyx, and Champion. These will be based on how you play, and Champion is only for the top 200 players in that playlist in the world.
It will be SR again, but their will be other ranks for multiplayer and spartan company status.
I hope it is better than 4s it was too easy to rank up in 4.
there will be a ranking system like those of league from black ops 2 and there will also be your sr

Something like halo reach where there was the arena game type wich was competitive and the normal rank through xp
