Is halo 5 on Xbox 360 or 720?

Does anyone know if halo 5 will be on Xbox 360 slim or Xbox 720?, because it would be great if halo 5 would be on Xbox 360. Please tell me if you have any information about this topic, I will really appreciate this. Thanks.

Halo 4 isn’t even out yet and you want to know about Halo 5??

Nobody knows for sure (as far as I know), but I’d say it’s a safe bet that H5 will be on the next Gen console seeing as -Yoink!- are supposedly unveiling their new console at E3 this year. If it’s not designed specifically for it, it’ll be backwards compatible imo.

I also refuse to accept the new console will be called the “720”. Not only because it’s such a crap name, but because it makes no sense given why they called the 2nd console the “360”.

SLIGHT SPOILERS

Dude, so far as we know (and most likely), Halo 5 isn’t even in development yet.

Right now it’s Halo 4, which comes out on November 6th, 2012 (this year) on the Xbox 360 exclusively.

Give Halo 5 another 2-3 years.

Also, since they won’t confirm any info or leaks, we don’t even truly know that a new Xbox platform is in development, either. However, I think everyone sort of knows there is.

Microsoft don’t have plans to reveal their next xbox title this e3, so unless the next halo game after halo 4 is another spin-off, then halo 5 will probably be on the 360.

No new console reveal. First off, Microsoft’s time slot would only allow for a couple of Kinect Titles to be revealed and demonstrated, Halo 4 has a specific time slot in -Yoink!-'s time slot, and then they have to share Windows 8 again. There’s not only no room for it in their E3 time slot, but they’ve already said there will be no reveal of any new console of theirs at E3 this year.

> Microsoft don’t have plans to reveal their next xbox title this e3, so unless the next halo game after halo 4 is another spin-off, then halo 5 will probably be on the 360.

Given that the 360 is in its final living years for a console generation (recommended 10 year lifespan, including extra renditions (Kinect)), I’d expect something at next year’s E3 actually. But definitely at their Spring Showcase next year, at least “it’s in development”.

Also, 343i may be a different company that’s bringing up Halo, but I’m sure we can assume that it WON’T pull a CoD and have a ‘new’ title every year. I’d expect Halo 5 around late 2014, or mid-late 2015 (Late in both years because they’ve already said that they’re not getting rid of Halo’s regular, and traditional game-release time slot).

Well, Halo 5 will most likely take about 3 years to come out after Halo 4, so around 2015. The 360 is said to have a lifespan of 10 years, and it came out in 2005. So, while Halo 5 could be on the next gen console, I don’t think it will be. I believe that it will still be on the 360 as Halo 3 came out 2 years after the 360 came out.

Halo 6 will definitely be on next gen console. Halo 5 is right on the fence, but will probably be on the 360.

I’m expecting they’ll pull a double-format. One for the 360, one for the next-gen. You know, not make the mistake they did with Halo 2.

Sorry for triple-posting here, but:

Question answered. Lock recommended (to avoid people raging on this kid).

I think it will release alongside the next Xbox. If it goes like other Halo games, they will be releasing every 3 years and I think the next Xbox will have released well before that. But if they do a ‘CoD’ on it and release a game every year, which I doubt they will, then it will release alongside the next xbox.

But yes, Halo 5 will be on the next Xbox. And possibly be on the Xbox 360 as well to get as many sales as possible.

Sure. Here.

Alternate direct-source link.

Please note: GameRant, GameInformer, and other major gaming-news media outlets are widely accepted here. Alternatively, you can search on Bing News “Microsoft E3 New Console 2012”. Immediate results for what you’re looking for. Youtube will not tell you the truth, and small media outlets are just looking for a story to sell to keep running (Keep that in mind).

My money’s on next-gen. I will be taking bets.

considering they’ll take 3 years per game like Bungie did with the original trilogy, I assume 5 and 6 will be on the next Xbox console.

Why on earth would Halo 5 on the 360 be “great” exactly? There were 2 two games on the OG Xbox. On the 360, there has been 4 if you count Halo wars. Halo 4 is going to make that number FIVE. Frankly I’m slightly disappointed Halo 4 is on current gen. I’m happy because I can play it sooner, but I’m tired of slight improvements. I want to see Halo take a huge leap in physics, graphics, size, etc.

Consider this, if Halo 5 is released on the 360, then that means a possibility of only one more halo on next gen. Unlikely, but possible. I would much rather see Halo 5 be a launch title. If MS keeps their word on the 2015 release of the 720, 343 would have time to release halo 5 when it drops. Which then gives them another 3-4 years to cook up halo 6. A very good thing BTW because this allows them a lot of time to get their heads around and squeeze as much HP out of the 720 as they can, thus resulting in a better game…hopefully. Better use of tech doesn’t equal a better game (just look at Halo 3 vs Reach). However, the potential is there.

Bottom line, if you want Halo 6 to be as good as humanly possible, be patient, save your pennies and pray to god that halo 5 is on the next console.

It’s way too early to be thinking about Halo 5, or 6 for that matter. But I’m more concerned about halo 6 than 5. Because if it’s the last one we ever see, I want it to be as beast in every department as possible. Only way that’s happening is if Halo 5 lands on next gen.

…took me a sec to realize that “HP” wasn’t “Health Points” xD

Moving on, you are correct my good sir. To make Halo 5 be on the 360 would be balls on stupid.

Microsoft better not delay the next generation of consoles by another three years and Halo 5 better not be on the 360. By 2015, when Halo 5 is released assuming it follows the three year plan between each Halo game, your average cell phone will be as powerful as the 360. Putting Halo 5 on such outdated technology would be very disrespective and most likely mean a bottle neck for the game’s advancement. After all, more processing power allows the developers to do more things, and not just graphically. Would be really unintelligent from Microsoft to not have a new console by that time.

Jesus, someone is already passed halo 4 excitement and going mental over a halo 5 release date, it’s not even in devolpment besides give halo 4 a chance first and a few years before we get some info on halo 5

I stand by what I said; making Halo 2 when they did was good, releasing it when they did, despite prior knowledge of Microsoft making the 360, was a horrible idea.

Halo 2 was a good game, and is playable on the 360, but it isn’t the same. It’s not even better. If Microsoft were to employ a double-platform release for Halo 5, with the next-gen having superior graphics to the 360 version, it would provide incentive for people to get a new console, but would also care for those who couldn’t afford it at the time.

Essentially, it’s standard marketing; why release on one platform you won, when you can have both and make a double-profit, AND make sales on the platform at the same time?

Assume the cost of Halo 5 is $60, and double platform. Also assume the cost of the NextBox is $400 (humor me) (sales are ‘x100 first hour, one store’):

Sales of NextBox alone: $40,000
Sales of Halo 5 alone (360): $6,000
Sales of NextBox + Halo 5 (NextBox): $46,000

Now, put all 3 of those prices together, and you have $92,000 for the first hour in one store. And that’s without taxes.
So, please explain; why would -Yoink!- go for one, or two, when they can have all three?

Why everything else 343 is doing is taken from COD so why don’t they start making Halo every year now.
