So I thought of this crazy idea when I was going through my Halo games today. Halo 5: Guardians has a colon in it’s name. The only other Halo to do that was Halo 3: ODST which we all know was a side game or whatever for halo 3. See what I’m saying? What if 343 wants to hold off Halo 6 to make sure it’s absolutely perfect yadda yadda and they give us a regular Halo 5 next year focused on the Chief? (which everyone wanted in Guardians!). Maybe it could focus on how Chief reunited with Blue team if that wasn’t already in a book somewhere (which if it is that’s really stupid imo), or it could be about something totally different. I have no idea. What are your thoughts?
You make a very good point, except the one main difference… odst had a better campaign (and also that was bungie, but you could be right still, i liked your post)

There’s also the little fact that Halo 3 came before ODST. It wouldn’t make much sense to publish a side story before the main story.

I also liked your post monitor, and i love your profile pick lol
No, this is the real halo 5. They did it to move away from numbered titles.
So if I understand this right, you think Halo 5 is yet to release?
Or spoken in different terms, you anticipate 343i announcing Halo 5 at some point in the future?
Back when Halo 5 was officially announced, 343 said they wanted to move away from using numerals for their future sequels. The name Guardians was used as a soft transition. Like Halo 6 won’t be called Halo 6, it will be Halo:(insert random title).

I didn’t like what they did with adding guardians. They should’ve just named it halo 5.

I’m mixed on this. It does break tradition, but it also gives you an idea of what the story is focused on. Removing numerals entirely would make identifying where the game fits in the overall story somewhat confusing.
Well 343 is moving away from the original series and focusing on their ‘Reclaimer Saga’ so it makes sense that they’ll be moving away from standard numeral naming, as they probably want to set apart these newer Reclaimer games from the rest of the series.
As far as i know Halo 5: Guardians was supposed to be a side-story game
Due to rewrites and Microsoft (I think) it became a main-line game.
This is based on Information I gathered a few months ago so please dont quote me on that.

As I said, they want to move away from numbered titles. They don’t want it to become halo 17 or something like that, so they’re adding the subtitles to eventually entirely replace the numbers.

Well, last I remember (and my information could be out of date, I haven’t really checked up on it in awhile, so keep that in mind), Microsoft wanted Halo to go on for another 20+ years. Can you imagine having games that are called like “Halo 12” or “Halo 15?” It would be a little ridiculous.

I don’t like that. For newcomers, it will be hard to tell Halo 6 from spin-off titles

Games like Final Fantasy do that so it’s not unheard of but I see what your saying
On a similar note, I think I see what they did there when Halo 5 wasn’t part of the Master Chief Collection.

Yeah, and FF’s at what… XV at this point? I stopped keeping up after XII, but hearing for example “Halo Fifteen” would just sound a bit odd I guess. After a while the numbers start to just feel weird when they start getting larger and larger. Final Fantasy Twenteeeeey!

I wish that was true that this poorly executed game was in fact the appetiser before the main event but sadly no halo 5 it is , just really poor that’s all
It´s an interesting point of view, but I dont really see it happening
