Is Halo 5: Guardians a prequel to Halo 5?

I believe Halo 5:Guardians is a prequel, because Halo: Reach timeline is before the first Halo game, Halo 3:ODST timeline is before Halo 3. In ODST you played as an ODST squad, Halo: Reach you were a Spartan III part of Noble Team. In Halo 5:Guardians you play as Locke and Chief(Majority Locke), With a Legendary Ending of this scale!!! Can I have an answer?

They certainly built up a great storyline… But in order to be prequel it has to come after something that already exists… This is just the first part of a trilogy.

I doubt it cause they already started working on halo 6. Plus they already said no expansions…

I’m pretty sure Halo 5: Guardians is Halo 5. Subtitle or no. If it was a prequel, it’d have just been called Halo: Guardians instead, probably.

A prequal isn’t technically a prequal if the thing it predates hasn’t been released yet.

At this point, the numbers don’t mean anything anayway.
What is so special about the next game that warrents the title of 5 that Guardians doesn’t, if you get my drift?

And 343 have already said that the reason they are moving away from numbers is so that we don’t end up with Halo 46. They only kept the 5 so that people whould know it came after 4.

A small theory has gotten so much trouble already? What nuerotech is right? What if Halo 5: Guaridians is just the game leading up to something even better? even bigger!!? You know it might even have local multiplayer!!?!?!?!?
