Absolutely. It has one of the best campaigns in the series and the (IMO) best multiplayer the series has ever seen.
No
Yes it is a worthy new Halo game. Is it classic Halo? Nope. Is it a very good game though and are the changes worthy enough for it to carry the name? Yes new Halo has arrived and it is magnificent.

You need to explain
The campaign is nearly as good as that of Halo 2 and 3, it’s really a blast
Halo 4 and 5 are actually my favorite campaigns of the series. If you’ve followed the story of 343’s Halo (Forerunner Saga, Kilo-Five Trilogy, Spartan Ops, Escalation, Nightfall, New Blood, Hunt the Truth, Hunters in the Dark, Last Light), which I know is a huge amount of stuff, then the plot makes complete sense and has some of the most interesting lore and mindblowing twists the series has ever had.
If you aren’t familiar with the crucial parts of the lore and story, then you’re screwed. 343 didn’t take the time to give enough backstory for the plot to stand on its own, and doesn’t even take the time to establish the backstory of the characters before thrusting you into a complicated and fast-paced sci-fi tale. Some may call that bad storytelling, but unlike something like Star Wars, the expanded universe is just as relevant, if not more relevant to the plot than the games.
You can’t jump into Game of Thrones Season 5 and expect to understand everything.
