Is Halo 5 a Lost Cause?

Given how its almost 1 year after the game launched and there are still so many problems and lack of content, do you believe Halo 5 like the MCC is a lost cause?

Honestly I don’t want Halo 5 to be a lost cause. Halo 5 has so much potential and I want it to live up to its potential. I want all the gametypes Halo 3 and Reach launched with to come to Halo 5. I want Playable Elites, fixed bugs, for Theater to be fixed and so much more. I don’t want Halo 5 to just be abandoned like how the MCC was. I want Halo 5 to be the best it can be and unfortunately its not. What about your thoughts? You think Halo 5 is a lost cause?

Not really a lost cause maybe a little but only on Campaign and some design choices.

No.

  • Lack of content? No such thing, just not as much as there was in other Halo games. - Glitched game? Well yes, not that many that are noticeable but do you remember when Halo 3 first released? And how perfect that game was when it released? - Playable elites at this point for me personally is just hilarious to watch people complain about it. Yes while a fairly large amount of people want it, there are way more important things on the bored than just a player skin. - And also this game will not be abandoned anytime soon, Halo is Microsofts poster child.

Hell, look at Halo 2 and CE, you can go on YouTube and find does of gliches.

BXR, super jumping, wall gliching, falling through floors. The list goes one.

Halo 2 and 3 was famous for player gliching out of the map and shooting you through walls

And more than half the people who complain about ‘the glitchy mess that Halo 5 is’ they weren’t around when the older games came out, which were in fact worse when they released than 5.

Halo 5’s launch was pathetic. It has turned into a decent game. There are still things the game should have imo; KOTH, Oddball, and VIP in matchmaking. Firefight could use some extensive tweaking and team based matching would make this game so much better. However, people don’t seem to want to look at the game’s actual issues. Instead of saying it was a 6 out of 10, now it’s an 8…they seem to scream it was a 2 now its a one. I’ve been around a long time and I’ve watched the hate cycle repeat itself (Halo 2 is awful. No halo 3 is awful, halo 2 is the best game ever.) The hate for Halo 5 isn’t as bad as it was with reach imo, but the hate seems to be focused on so many more inconsequential things. Other than the anti-sprinters it isn’t really focused on game play, it’s focused on these minor things that just seem trivial. That combined with this weird idealization of bungie is just bothersome. Bungie would’ve fixed this by now, no…I was there…they probably wouldn’t have. The main difference I see is they would have said, “we’re working on it”, but that is about it.

Any one complaining about “lack of content” in Halo 5 current state is complaining for the sake of complaining there is plenty of content in H5. No Halo 5 isn’t a lost cause. Halo 5 is a good game, it’s fun to play, and has plenty of content. Sure it’s not as popular since it was made to cater to the competitive players so the casuals don’t care for it as much but that doesn’t mean it’s a “lost cause”.

Exactly, there were times where Halo 1, 2 and 3 were literally unplayable because of players abusing these gliches. hell, I still run into players from time to time still using them in Halo MCC, (Which trying to keep the authentic feel did nothing to fix them till they became a problem and we’re actually patched a bit)

Nah, I’d say the game isn’t dead. I still play it and have fun, and that’s enough for me.

Not completely a lost cause but for me personally, it’s in the past other than keeping up on any new content. I mean, what developer waits a year after launch to investigate server-player stability issues that have been present since day one? While burying most of the repercussions in a sticky thread they don’t even frequent?

HALO 5 needs more playlist and game modes

While Halo 5 doesn’t appeal to me anymore, and is a lost cause in my eyes, I do understand that a lot of people still enjoy it. It’s not really my place to tell others how they should feel about the game, even though it does not follow my own opinion.

Hardly a lost cause and the plus points majorly outweigh the negatives. Reading here may give the opposite impression at times, but I think a lot of the criticism is over exaggerated.

There’s people still playing daily after a year now, including me, it’s definitely not a lost cause.

The title should really be “Halo 5 is a Lost Cause”.

Unless 343 has an epiphany on what they must do to make this game more enjoyable, I probably won’t spend any more time playing this game, nor will I buy Halo 6, at least not on launch day, like I have for almost every Halo game.

Id be happy enough if they could fix the ghost melee’s/bullet registration issues that have been plaguing the game recently. KoTH and Oddball would be awesome though.

No, it just needs a little bit more love from 343 to make it stable, and some love from us and it should be good.

No it is not. It is a game just like the others with a different story. Every game now has problems so i can’t blame 343. The only that i don’t like in Halo 5 is the Art Style. Mabe i am just too old and im playning since Halo CE. Other games have worst problems than Halo and i am playing them. So i can say Halo is a good game but if the 343 had a larger campaign i think it would be a great game.

I wouldn’t say lack of content…but the campaign is a lost cause. They should just kill of Fireteam Osiris and hand the glory over to Chief in Halo 6!
