Is halo 5 a harder game?

A lot of ppl claim halo 5 kill the skill gap and it’s for noobs holds your hand etc; but is the game easy? Played a couple games on truth where I did decent. Couple “server errors” later i decide to go play MCC jump in team slayer first get a H2 team BR on accession finish 22-8. Then regular slayer H3 on snowbound easily control the br spawn and go 18-2. Now obviously I’m more familiar with the older games (logged in 9 days of online on H3) but still felt too easy.

Something I feel halo 5 does right is weapon variety meaning holding down a BR spawn should not result in you destroying every one close and far. Where you can now know if you play smart and close the distance between you and BR user your AR actually stands a chance.

So question for you guys is, do you feel halo 5 is harder or are we just good at previous halos.
And hate to admit it but I can see that be the reason for some of the hate. I’m honestly excited to master the new mechanics! Knowing i can go back and play H2 or H3 and still put in work part of me is happy about the change

Not at all. People can bash the new stuff all day but ultimately good teams demolish bad teams.

The high bullet magnetism is what’s holding it back. If that lowers then its where it needs to be.
Skill decides matches though.

I do find the magnetism to be a tad too high, for sure. The game is way too easy as is.

I’ve never had a harder time playing Halo. I consistently do very well in all the other Halos, especially Halo 3, but this game, I’m lucky to get at least 10 kills a game, and even luckier to win a match. Sadly, 95% of my deaths are never skill-related. I’m always put into situations I can’t do anything about (triple teamed after my team dies off on me, spawning away from my team and near the enemy team and dying because I’m alone (lone wolfing is suicide in this game), or getting spawn killed all the time, just to name a few things). I’ve already rage quit the beta several times because bad luck is constantly making my Halo 5 experience unbearable

I really don’t know why I keep playing the beta. I’ve literally only had a handful of enjoyable games out of all the matches I’ve played since the beta started. I spend almost all of my time constantly annoyed at the unfair stuff that goes on in the game and very little of my time actually having fun. It kills me inside to say that I don’t see myself ever playing this game much when it comes out if my experience continues to be this trashy

Sounds like you need to play with a party more than anything. I played solo the first week. In a party of 3-4 the 2nd. It was 3x more fun with the party. And I won 90% of the time instead of 60%.

imho its not the new mechanics that are taking away skill gap, they actually seem to be fairly well balanced… i think its more thngs like the power weapon spawn indicators and announcements… knowing these things has always been a part of why some people were better than others… it’s not game breaking by any means to me, but it’s just small things like that, that seem to be taking away the skill gap.

LMFAO Anyone who claims Halo 5 is harder has problems. The game is buuilt to be easy. 343 really tried their hardest to make it so new players can hop on and be average while average players are now good. My K/D is higher than it has ever been for a Halo game A LOT HIGHERI haven’t gone negative ONE TIME. Worst game: 12 kills 10 assists 10 deaths. Usually average 20 kills and around 6 deaths

Maybe beause H5 is ranked, and H3 in MCC isnt. H5 is hard playing alone , but isnt a hard shooter.

I have been destroying at the Halo 5 beta and I suck at Halo 2/3. But, I got bored of Halo 5 so I went back on the MCC.

Its the easiest Halo game ive ever played.

Maybe I’m missing something but when playing multiplayer isn’t the difficulty defined by the skill of your opponent? Meaning if you have a great K/D your opponent is doing that much worse. Isn’t that synonymous with high skill gap?

It depends on who your up against

Any multiplayer game can be easy, and any multiplayer game can be hard

It’s not the game that’s hard/easy, it’s your opponents they will decide the difficulty

The game literally has the lowest Aim Assist since Halo:CE. It’s still too high, the hitboxes too large, and the bullet magnetism too strong, but it most certainly is an improvement (for gunplay) over previous titles.

The game is built easy with thigs like weapon call out etc but halo 2 and 3 are easy in the way that they are simple AF again not a bad thing I love them. All I gotta worry about is the holy triangle. If I have a BR only way I’m dying is power weapon or getting out BR’d the ways someone can come at me is also limited now you throw in autos that matter and their love for clamper makes travel more complex there are more threats in halo 5 thats a given

It’s more team oriented, you get absolutely -Yoink- on when outnumbered, in that regard it’s harder. But everything else is easier from jumps (clamber), to sniping, to grenades.

It’s easier cause a new player can pick up the game and still get kills and be somewhat productive with ar starts of course, br starts still punish bad players, but you’re forgetting a lot of little things that now new players don’t have to learn, weapon respawn locations, weapon respawn timers, crouch jumping, where other people are on the map without being told by the Spartan chatter or kill cams, and like Halo 4 they can spam grenades and not kill teammates. Good players will always wreck new or bad players but they have catered as much to the new players as possible without taking away the four shot br kill.

I can get my 4 shots pretty dam easy in this game the br is pretty much one shot so if you get him all bullets are gonna count and and the range is crazy and how easy it is to kill from distance is a joke haha.

That’s what I think it is tbh. I rarely get a party going for MCC and rarely had one for H3 and even playing the MLG play list is still be about to go off when lone wolfing it (mind you my highest rank is in lone wolf playlist) so maybe I’m a solo player but it’s a lot hard to go off while attacking solo in halo 5. Right now clamber might feel like it baby’s up to much but after the community gets its hand all over it I see some crazy things possible with me. Picture that ANY ledge you smack your face in is climbable
