Is Halo 4 worth picking up one year later?

I have played plenty of Halo 4. I bought it at launch. My Spartan is SR130. Last month my disc broke. Should I throw down the cash to buy it again? What’s the game like one year after launch?

GOTY comes with all the DLC and a few exclusive skins. but if you already have the dlc, you should save your money, cuz regular is twenty used at gamestop.

Well, it honestly depends on your tastes I suppose. I can’t say that I’d recommend it for everyone, but it’s definitely easy to find games. I haven’t had any difficulty with the online community (though I’ve never got my mic plugged in usually,) and I’ve enjoyed myself so far. However, I’m enjoying it for entirely different reasons than previous Halo games.

I’d say if you’re looking for a game where you can lay back and treat it purely as an arcade shooter, then you can probably still enjoy it. It’s definitely easier to enjoy yourself with friends though, so I’d recommend checking if anyone on your friends list might still hold some interest in the game.

I have played Halo Religiously for the last 7 years, and if my disc broke on any Halo game I would not hesitate to get a new one, except Halo 4.

IMO, it’s not worth buying it a second time, even used. The game has been such a letdown for me it makes me sad.

If you liked Halo 4 then you will probably like it more as 343 has done a few things to make it better .

All depending on how much you enjoyed it before.

P.S. Team Slayer is getting a CSR reset and changing to W/L style CSR

(I’m pumped for the most part but still a little upset infinity settings are in the new playlist)

I would say give it a Go

I’m really not sure what you’re asking. Nothing has changed since you last played it three weeks ago except that Multi-Team is the current rotational playlist.

Well, there are always the commendations to finish.

Do what you feel is the right choice.

I stopped playing for a long time, I just don’t turn my xbox on much anymore. But It surprises me how much fun I have when I do play again. For example JUST now, I had some very flustered player continuously try to siege me on my little hill of junk in the middle of Exile, to die 3 times in a row to my Boltshot prowess. the team did eventually get me cause his whole damn team kept spawning around me. But it was pretty damn funny to see the same face plate angrily run towards me over and over. (It wasn’t even him that killed me though)

I did exactly this a few weeks ago! I was boltshot charging this guy every time he came up to the middle. He finally got on the mic and told me to get a real shotgun. It was worth the lolz to be “that guy”

Regardless of all the hate, YES. It’s still Halo and I love it, play daily.

Game of the year edition might be good to get then.

Don’t waste your time playing that poor excuse for a halo game, pick up Call of Duty Ghosts instead, or better yet invest in the Xbox One.

I for one enjoyed the new campaign, Cortanas mind getting worse, Chief being more a Human, new weapons, Mantis, new Spartans, and lately I am loving MM again.

Campaign is still the same, multiplayer is practically dead, and likely we won’t get any support for it outside of playlist updates (guarantee Spartan Ops Season 2 is nonexistent at this point).

I personally wouldn’t throw down sixty dollars for it again, unless the price has dropped significantly.

> Cortanas mind getting worse, Chief being more a Human

While they did delve into Cortana’s psyche getting worse, they didn’t really make Chief more human, nor did the spartan IV’s seem all that “cocky/immature”.

Not sure where people are coming up with all this stuff.

Think it’s $29.99 on average now.

Another thing, don’t bother getting the DLC if you do buy Halo 4 again.

No one has it, and it rarely shows up in matchmaking regardless.

Agreed, unless you want the new stances.

> Well, Chief actually showed a bit of emotion for once. That might be it.

I always thought the POINT of chief was not to show emotion, to see if he can not-crack under his pressure, to be the soldier people needed him to be, not the soldier he wanted to be (I sound like I’m quoting the dark night now.)

Master chief is supposed to be the best of the best. The best of the best don’t become emotionally compromised by computer programs.

I picked the game back up a few weeks ago after selling it several months ago.
They added DLC requirements for several playlists i liked shortly after.
I got banned from here for “flaming” when i asked someone to try speaking English more coherently if it was their native language, and if it wasn’t to try rewording it.
The balancing issues I had with the game largely are still not fixed.

Its a fun game; but its more frustrating to play when you lose than any other game I’ve ever played. It still does not feel like a halo game barely to me; instead of utilizing the entire map players have a tedency to stick to their side and shoot at people on the other side.

If you are bored as crap and want a game to play, buy it and play it CASUALLY. But its far to frustrating to play competitively and the game turns me off now for that reason.

I still very much enjoy the game and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.
