If one looks at the Halo waypoint forums, there are numerous complaints about Halo 4 being one of the worst Halo games in the series, mostly because of multiplayer. This is understandable, games stop abruptly due to server issues, some of the maps give an advantage to one team over another, there are some bugs and some of the maps are terrible. Personally it annoys me, but it doesn’t annoy me to point of just taking a giant deification all over the game. Sure I miss Bungie doing everything, but I am glad 343 industries is making new releases of a game series that I practically grew up with. I love Halo I really do. It has an amazing story, it has always entertained me, and I could go on about how much I love Halo. I even love Halo 4, it has so much customizable options for your armor and unlike Halo Reach you don’t have to spend credits trying to get your armor looking badass. I love the new graphics that makes the game look real. I love the fact it tries to stop people from being power weapon whores and kinda makes every encounter you have with another player a battle between who has the best skills. Most shooters now don’t have that anymore. 85% of the time its a fair fight. So come one people think before troll Halo 4 for not being the same as before. The only serious issue with this game is that 343 industries tries to hide from us. You have to go here for your Halo 4 problems, they should have a support center ready to help its consumers. So vote is Halo 4 really that bad or is it just not as good as the originals.

No, not really. Sure there is skill involved, but a lot of Halo 4 depends on preparation and luck. Halo 4 is kind of random, with all the loadouts involved and ordnance drops. If you’re an average player and don’t bring the right loadouts with you into battle, you’re gonna have a bad time.

But it is lacking in features and things common for Halo, and doesn’t have the charm previous games had.
It isn’t really bad, but it was poorly presented and is suffering for it.
On the forums the amount of time past is directly related to the amount and intensity of whining there is. It’s pretty much all just a process of reducing the community down to the angriest posters (as any other group doesn’t share the same level of motivation to keep posting about the game.)
Yes, it is that bad. I played Halo 2 and 3 fanatically for years. Reach I played at least once every week or 2 even though I hated it. I haven’t played Halo 4 since Dec 3 and it’s the newest in the franchise. Didn’t even last a full month before I was so disgusted with it I couldn’t put it in my disc tray anymore.
Almost broke down and played today though because I had that old itch I wanted to scratch. Luckily I had a friend on Live to talk me down before I did something stupid and he made me realize how crazy I was acting. I almost relapsed and ruined all the progress I’ve made. It could have only ended badly. =|

A first game as a studio is no excuse. They were handed a big franchise and they dropped the ball. Not to mention a vast majority of 343 employees have worked in the industry for years.
Yea it is that bad, for a halo game. Features are missing that were in past halos, some features are still broken that were in past halos, and some are just not coming back (looking at you campaign scoring and theater.) Then there is the mess that is mm, that doesnt even deserve the halo brand on it. It is so far removed from core gameplay of past halos its not funny.
Maybe if it was a new ip it wouldnt get so much hate, it still would be mediocre at best though. It is in a sea of juggernauts that is the class based shooter market. But for a halo ip it is terrible, there is a stigma surrounding halo and what is expected and everything missed the mark.

I will say the lack of some features that were present in Halo 3 and Reach does suck. Also the UI when compared to Reach is terrible. But, Halo 4 is not a bad game by any means, the worst that was ever offered in this series is prepatch Halo 2 in my opinion and after some updates that game became amazing. This is what makes me look forward to the coming months. With some updates to balancing, playlists, and with CSR I think this game can become amazing too. People have just become too impatient.
I love playing Halo 4. It needs tweaking for sure but overall I very much enjoy it. I wish they had a slayer game playlist which plays more like Halo of old, and have Infinity slayer as a fun variant of slayer and not the main slayer game.

100% agree. They are listening to us, it just takes time to implement these changes. People seem to forget that Halo 2 was patched before it became what it was.
If you like it why do you care what other people think? I like pokemon Ruby and Sapphire best, yet they’re considered one of the worst in the series.
